I Am Tired...

That state doesnt say you own property. YOU say you own property, others say they own property, and you both agree. And you make a social contract not to interfere with each others claims. The state only exists to secure that agreement. And then you agree on a way to pay for that security, be it property tax, or income tax. or a sales tax, as federal things were funded by in the 19th century.

The state says whether you own property. Maybe I say I own your house, and Luckyone agrees with my I own your house. Who decides whether we're right or you are? The government. And there were no income taxes in the 19th century.

Give me the reasons why you believe we cannot go back to that kind of situation we had in the 80's?

I'll give you one why it's very hard to: because the billionaires have created a massive, weaponized system that is corrupted to serve them, and to manipulate public opinion to support it. While they're about to lose control of the government through their favorite party, the Democrats are still plutocrat-light, and they just got control of the court by radicals who serve them. We can return to reasonable policies when progressives win, not before.

Choosing a political party ended up being a Sociopath Test.

They don't understand liberals because something is missing in their heads.

Yeah, I’m missing that part that says the US is the great evil in the world, that abolishing and underfunding police is a good idea, that rioting, looting and assaults on police are justifiable and that acknowledging all lives matter is bad.

Frankly, with every breath I draw, I’m grateful to not be a lefty.

No, conservatives have clearly got the part in their heads that can create long lists of strawmen.

That was never a problem.

I was talking about another piece that's missing.

Idealizing?

Give me the reasons why you believe we cannot go back to that kind of situation we had in the 80's?

Explain to me why you think this is right (chart below)

and explain to me why we can't go back to that period economic situation

In 1929, we had the same kind of income inequality we have today, in fact today is worse, and we had a depression and then between 1950 we had a great situation regarding income equality.

This is idealizing? I would say my mentioning it is trying to be preventive of what is to happen at some point soon, which will be worse than the 1929 depression. You don't want to prevent that from occurring? You think the rich getting richer is maintainable?

Yes, but all your wealth envy is moot. Thats how this country works. If youre really unhappy, why not go somewhere else? Whats the point in complaining all the time when there are better options you can choose?

I am tired of the rich getting richer and the rest of us having to work harder to just keep ourselves above water. I am tired of the unfairness of our capitalistic society that allows injustice to occur based exclusively on the power that money brings. I am tired of the few ruling our lives based on their needs and not on the needs of the entire nation.

lets take a look at why the OP is once again wrong in what he says.

If you look at most rich people you will see why they got rich. Most people that are rich are first generation. This means they didn't inherit their money they worked for it.
so how did they get rich? first off they started by doing 3 simple things.

1. They graduated high school/trade school/college.
2. They didn't get pregnant out of wedlock in most cases and waited till they were about 26-28 or later to start a family.
3. They worked full time jobs.
4. They started their own business
5. They lived within their means
6. They invested their money and watched their debt levels.

I remember when things were different here in the USA and all of us, as a nation, worked together to make things better for all, and not just for the benefit of those lucky or talented few. A time all of us could aspire to the "American Dream" and no one was prevented from achieving it if they worked for it. A time where everyone could aspire to own a company and not just work for an all-encompassing big company like Apple, Amazon, Google, or At&T and be tied to them in an inescapable way. A time where money was a secondary issue and not the #1 objective in life.

Anyone can start their own company now. It was just easier to start your own company 30-40 years ago than it is today. There are so many rules and regulations that it is almost cost prohibitive to start your own business.
this is why the economy has slowed down. between local and federal laws it costs a ton of money to even get a business up and running.

I miss the time where respect, honor, justice, morals, ethics and humanity meant something and not be something to be ridiculed and thrown away as a weakness and not a strength.

The irony of this statement cannot be missed. This coming from a guy that pretty much insults anyone and everyone that disagree's with him on a regular basis.

If thinking this way makes me a socialist, then so be it. Nonetheless, in the years when I was young (the 60's through the 80's), this was what all Americans aspired to achieve and none were called socialists then. That was a time when each and every person regardless of economic capability was important. A time we all were Americans, unlike now where those that think like that are called socialists and enemies.

wanting to take the money that other people work for and earn very much makes a person a socialist or communist.

From the "Seven Deadly Sins".

Envy, like greed and lust, is characterized by an insatiable desire. It can be described as a sad or resentful covetousness towards the traits or possessions of someone else. It arises from vainglory, and severs a man from his neighbor.

I'm tired....of the pathetic ****ing whining. Im tired....of people that were told that life was supposed to be 'fair' and you werent supposed to have to work hard to succeed. I'm tired...of losers that believe that they have the right to the success and wealth of others. I'm tired...of the people that follow socialist gurus like Bernie Sanders and piss and moan about the wealth and excess of capitalism and eeeeeeeevil capitalists while ignoring the fact that the guy they worship has amassed massive wealth and owns 4 homes. I'm tired....of piece of shit RRRRIIIIICCCCCCCHHHHH capitalist leftist politicians that sell a message that somehow the people that are wealthy in this country should pay more and that there should be more equality...after they just bought their 4th mansion and banked there second hundred million. I'm tired...of people that think things used to be any different, that capitalists dtoday dont work their ass off to achieve wealth, that people in the 60's, 70's and 80's werent working 2 and 3 jobs to better their social circumstances so their kids could succeed. I'm tired...of people that think wealth is a zero sum game and that their pathetic miserable failures of a life are caused by the wealthy that steal their pennies and keep them oppressed. I'm tired...of people that clamor for socialism without knowing **** all about what socialism actually is. Im tired...of pathetic Americans born with opportunity that people come to this country often illegally, often with nothing...and watch those same people bust their ass and within a generation become business owners and home owners while those same Americans that watch the people coming here succeed bitch and moan about how hard and unfair life is and how the Amercian dream cant be achieved...except...you know...by the millions that do it every year. I'm itred if whiny pathetic losers that clamor for MORE illegal immigration into the country that they hate so desperately who then dont have the balls and testicular fortitude to follow those immigrants example and take their ass to whatever socialist Utopia they think exists and live there. Im tired of having to carry the dead weight leftist ****s in this country that whine and piss and moan about their pathetic miserable existences and blame their failures at life on everyone but their parents and that worthless empty individual that stares back at them from the mirror every day.

Guess we are all a little tired.

I think what you're describing is a worthy and necessary goal, despite parts of it being a little on the obsolete side...but I'm not sure that what you're describing was ever the norm. Things may have been better for more, but there has never been uniform equality in America.

Careful not to fall into the trap of revising history out of frustration with your present....that's how you got Trump.

I am tired of the rich getting richer and the rest of us having to work harder to just keep ourselves above water. I am tired of the unfairness of our capitalistic society

You're confusing capitalism's freedom as unfairness. The concept of 'the rich getting richer' while the poverty rate has remained steady for decades is a government contrivance. The government is using a capitalistic technique (acting in its own self interest) in order to make one feel dependent and helpless: Big government gets votes.

The magic of the 'unfairness' of capitalism is that one can employ it for personal gain. People can try to sell me the concept that paying more than 200% household income for a house is a good deal. Buying a new car and the latest phone is a good deal. Getting a divorce and being a part time father is all the rage. While socially acceptable due to advertising and manipulation, these concepts are economically and psychologically destructive on a personal level over the long term. In a selfish, capitalistic way, I have no use for that nonsense. Capitalism allows me to dismiss them out of hand.

YOU are the reason why we cant go back to a period of income equality. You refuse to do your part.

Canadian....right?

As I've long said, plutocracy is the #1 issue for the US. Everything else follows from it, including having a democracy that can address other issues.

If Nazis, or Martians, or communists, or disco fans, or gun nuts, or opera fans were taking over the country, I'd say that. But they're not. Plutocrats, and their minions, are. Which has been a leading issue for 150 years, and the leading issue for 50. And where the hell are centrist Democrats pointing this out? They're afraid of being called socialist for supporting the American people. Except progressives, the only group fighting the plutocrats.

Hmm... would you define someone making $400K/year as a plutocrat or just one of their minions? Is a college football coach a plutocrat (if they are paid far more than the POTUS) or just one of their minions?

LOL...when, exactly, did America ever have income equality?

That is an excellent question for the OP. Maybe they can answer that question more clearly than just sometime prior to the 1960’s (before the Great Society programs).

The answer, of course, is never. Even when the gap was less, there was still rampant disparity. I think there's a reason why they call it the American Dream, and not the American Reality. Not that anyone anywhere else gets to claim superiority on this one...we haven't evolved enough yet as a species to where this has ever been demonstrably true. It's a solid goal...but an unmet one.

Answer the question.

Does Venezuala have income equality?
