I am Israel
I am Israel - I came to a land without a people for a people without a land. Those people who happened to be here, had no right to be here, and my people showed them they had to leave or die, razing 480 Palestinian villages to the ground, erasing their history.
I am Israel - some of my people committed massacres and later became Prime Ministers to represent me. In 1948, Menachem Begin was in charge of the unit that slaughtered the inhabitants of Deir Yassin, including 250 men, women, and children. In 1953, Ariel Sharon led the slaughter of the inhabitants of Qibya, and in 1982 arranged for our allies to butcher the refugees in the camps of Sabra and Shatilla.
I am Israel - carved in 1948 out of 78% of the land of Palestine, dispossessing its inhabitants and replacing them with Jews from Europe and other parts of the world. While the natives whose families lived on this land for thousands of years are not allowed to return, Jews from all over the world are welcome to instant citizenship.
I am Israel - in 1967, I swallowed the remaining lands of Palestine - the West Bank and Gaza - and placed their inhabitants under an oppressive military rule, controlling and humiliating every aspect of their daily lives. Eventually, they should get the message that they are not welcome to stay, and join the millions of Palestinian refugees in the shanty camps of Lebanon and Jordan.
I am Israel - All the forces of the world are powerless against me, including the UN as I have the American veto to block any condemnation of my war crimes. As Sharon so eloquently phrased it, "We control America". I am Israel - I influence American mainstream media too, and you will always find the news tailored to my favor. I have invested millions of dollars into PR representation, and CNN, New York Times, and others have been doing an excellent job of promoting my propaganda. Look at other international news sources and you will see the difference.
I am Israel - and you Palestinians want to negotiate "peace!?" But you are not as smart as me; I will negotiate, but will only let you have your municipalities while I control your borders, your water, your airspace, and anything else of importance. While we "negotiate," I will swallow your hilltops and fill them with settlements, populated by the most extremist of my extremists, armed to the teeth. These settlements will be connected with roads you cannot use, and you will be imprisoned in your little Bantustans between them, surrounded by checkpoints in every direction.
I am Israel - with the fourth strongest army in the world, possessing nuclear weapons. How dare your children confront my oppression with stones, don't you know my soldiers won't hesitate to blow their heads off? Since your intifada, I have killed thousands of you, mostly civilians, and have the mandate to continue since the international community remains silent. Ignore, as I do, the hundreds of Israeli soldiers who are now refusing to carry out my control over your lands and people; their voices of conscience will not protect you.
I am Israel - and you want freedom? I have bullets, tanks, missiles, Apaches, and F-16's, to obliterate you. I have placed your towns under siege, confiscated your lands, uprooted your trees, demolished your homes, and you still demand freedom? Don't you get the message? You will never have peace or freedom, because I am Israel.

It is considered customary and appropriate, on this forum, to link to your source and to credit the author of copyrighted, published material.
In fact, it is criminal not to.
Should I contact Hashem Said and notify him of your copyright infringement?
I think I'll do so, unless you can produce credible evidence that you are in fact Mr. Said, the author of "I Am Israel", a Palestinian student studying at Washington University, who first published the piece in 2002.

The started post of this thread is full with lies that it's beyond counting.

Let's summarize the issue better:

Tashah, thank you for the warning. I will pay closer attention to the rules.

1069, thank you for pointing that out.

I found this on a myspace account,
here is the original source, i think : The Daily - Washington State University 2002

Thank you for the article Jenin.
Face of Jacob, your hatred shows through in every single post.

Thought I post this response to Jenin's article. Don't worry about copyright...I wrote it myself, tonight. I would appreciate if TheFaceofJacob, Tashah, or anyone else who shares the sentiments of my article were to edit or add to it. Y'all could probably do better, so feel free, I won't be insulted.

Here it is:

I am Israel

I am Israel - I came to a land without a people for a people without a land. Those people who happened to be here, did not have to leave, and, in fact were asked to stay during the UN deliberations. Instead, they chose to listen to Arabs from other countries and leave, and when they did, those Arab countries refused to assist them. When they wanted to return, they refused to agree to live in peace with Jews here, a requirement as the right of return.

I am Israel – I have been attacked by my Arab neighbors on at least 5 occasions in major engagements and countless other times in minor ones. My people and my children, going about their daily lives have been slaughtered for just being Israeli. The holiest day of the year was desecrated in 1973 with an unprovoked attack.

I am Israel – created out of 56% of the land of Palestine. Arab inhabitants were given equal rights and asked to stay (something not done for Jews in the Arab portion of the partition), but many decided to leave, listening to Arabs in other nations, and hoping for my quick destruction. Jews from all over the world, many persecuted, are welcome. Inhabitants who have left are allowed the right of return as long as they agree to live in peace with Jews here. Most have refused this. And, instead of settling and building on the land allocated for Arabs in the partition plan, these inhabitants have, instead, refused this, continuing to hold out for my complete destruction.

I am Israel – in 1967, facing imminent attack and threatening actions from many of my Arab neighbors, I responded aggressively in order to preserve my survival. With continued attacks and aggression to this day, I have no choice to protect myself and insure my survival. It is hypocritical for Arabs to want to be afforded these rights, but not for me to be allowed to.

I am Israel – Most of my neighbors want and pray for my destruction. Some even have or have had that in their constitutions or charters. I am constantly receiving unjustified sanctions by the UN, often sponsored by those that want to destroy me or by those who are dependant on Arab resources. Yet, often atrocities enacted on my people by those accusers, are either minimized or ignored. I thank America for standing up to and not allowing those who hate me just for existing and those who are dependant on those that hate me to help in destroying me. With so many against me, I am grateful that America and the American press present my position. Many, internationally, don’t do this for fear of angering Arabs and their oil.

I am Israel - and you Palestinians don’t want to negotiate peace. You continue to call for my destruction, continue to, indiscriminately, kill my people, and then continue to create your own propaganda about how evil I am; propaganda that includes many claims of atrocities, most of which, are not, but are, instead, responses to your aggression and ways to prevent my destruction. Yet, all you would need to do is to agree to stop the violence. Yet this is one thing you refuse to do, because to do this you might have to take responsibility for your own shortcomings rather than blame everything on me.

I am Israel - with the fourth strongest army in the world, possessing nuclear weapons. And thank goodness for that, with every neighbor surrounding me hoping for and targeting me for my destruction. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t exist. If you don’t want your children, throwing stones, killed, tell them not to throw stones. It is not always easy, when so many want to destroy me, to know the kind of projectile heading my way. If you don’t want your civilians to be killed, don’t place military weapontry or fire weapons near them. In fact, if you stop the violence, altogether, chances are we both will have peace. It is a shame, though, that the international community continues to condemn me for defending myself, and, often is silent when it comes to your aggressive acts against me.

I am Israel - and you want freedom? You seem to want my destruction. I want peace. I wish you wanted that, too.

Thank you for the article Jenin.
Face of Jacob, your hatred shows through in every single post.

I try to suppress my natural reaction to reading Jacob's posts, which is that if Israelis are this hateful towards Muslems it is no wonder they find themselves in the situation they are in; that Israel is unworthy US support; and that we should just wash our hands of the whole freaking matter.

But I do not believe the vast majority of Israelis are like him.

I am Israel
I am Israel - I came to a land without a people for a people without a land.

I have to say I didn't even make it thru the first sentence without registering an objection. "I came to a land without a people..."? Are we supposed to believe that there were no Palestinians in Palestine when the zionist movement began?

FoJ sounds like a lot of fundamentalist christians I've known.
I'm sure if there were some fundamentalist Islamics here, they'd sound the same.

This is a piece intended to disparage Israeli actions. you are supposed to read it and object to what Israel is doing.

Hmmmmm. Good point.

To quote the chuch lady:

"Never mind"

This people without land and land without people thing goes back Israel Zangwill in 1901, who got it from Lord Shaftesbury. It can be seen as the Zionist version of the Nazi slogan "Volk ohne Raum", which means people without land.

Israel Zangwill was probably the first who used the term "melting pot", this term has got popular by a theatre play written by him.

The picture above accurately depicts why the Palestinians deserve absolutely no sympathy.

I am open to helping those who do not commit atrocites like that, which is depicted in the picture above; however, I will never provide funds, support, or humanitarian aid to people like the woman above.

This woman is a terrorist and she needs to be delt with accordingly.

That picture is so stunningly sad. How could any mother dress up a little one as a suicide bomber? How could any mother sacrifice a child to satiate their own perverse hatred? What kind of a mother encourages their offspring to be a mass-murderer? This is pure wickedness.

I dont think we will ever understand.
The US is coming around to see just what type of people they are..

Tashah, Can you read the headband say on this little girl?

If you don’t want your children, throwing stones, killed, tell them not to throw stones.

If they don't want stones thrown, then perhaps fourth largest army in the world should get out of the Palestinian's neighborhoods, stop knocking down their homes, stop murdering and kidnapping members of their family, stop forcing them to spend hours going through checkpoints to make the simplest journeys, stop buliding settelments that steal Palestinian land and are populated by armed fanatics, and stop blocking them off from their farms etc. by buliding an apartheid wall.

Untill Israel ends it's brutal and illegal occupation, then the Palestinians have every right to throw stones at the occupying, terrorist force.

Fourth largest army in the world? According to Wikipedia, Israel ranks 33rd in global military might -

List of countries by size of armed forces

Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Iraq are all listed as having larger militaries than Israel.

And how does one measure *strongest? Provide a citation please.

I was actually quoting CaptainCourtesy's post, I assume you trust its legitimacy.

I'm sure it has some measure of propaganda value.

Yes, and we know, it's the truth.
