The simplest answer is the most depressing: because they were ordered to. Fox et. al. starts reporting on something, they all start putting on shows of being terribly riled up about it.

I'm sure there is more at play. For example, the fact that annoying a non-Trumpist is seen as a plus and pissing them off with insulting stupidity is "owning" them. (Permanently traumatizing brown kids and making a non-Trumpist feel bad for them gets the ultimate medal: for "pwning the libs").

I may be wrong, but I suspect that Biden could end up getting charged with either tax evasion and/or failing to report/register as a foreign agent. I hope it's the former and not the latter, because rich people cheating on their taxes is within the realm of the normal. Even if it's his son, and even if he allows the Justice Dept to do their thing, if Hunter gets charged with failing to register as an agent with a country increasingly regarded as an adversary, it would probably be the end of Biden's presidency.

Oh yeah, a hard drive that has been the hands of who knows is going to bring down who? Really? If I were you I would be more worried about Trump's missing 7.5 minutes. They are saying now that the phone call logs have been manipulated to erase those minutes. That is a real problem and not some laptop hard drive that could have been manipulated by even the Russians.

There is only one thing missing, deliberately so, from the articles that are coming out now: The connection to "the big guy".

Here is how WaPo is framing it...

The Post did not find evidence that Joe Biden personally benefited from or knew details about the transactions with CEFC, which took place after he had left the vice presidency and before he announced his intentions to run for the White House in 2020.​


WaPo is being dishonest, as usual. There is ample evidence that the big guy was a willing part of all of the action...and he took his cut of the action.
 
Hunter did take millions from the Chinese government. WaPo confirmed it. They’re behind a paywall, though.

It’s only a matter of time.

Nobody is concerned if he made any money. The concern is if he committed any crimes and his father is compromised because of his behavior.
