I guess I'm the resident newbie. I like the idea of civil discussions of politics (there are so few out there) so here I am. Just so we know where I stand, I am an Anarchist. Not the stereo-typed, blood-thirsty, mob-rule Anarchist, no! Just a guy who happens to think government, any government, is over rated and out-dated. I look forward to stopping by often. I really like that basement thingy, too. It's kinda cool, like "the cone of silence" (he shows his age). :2wave:

Hello and welcome to DP.

So youre an Anarchist? Cant you get a shot from the doctor to clear that up?......Just kidding...
Welcome

WELCOME ABOARD!

Thanks for the welcome galenrox and cherokee. I hope my lack of my political affilliation won't upset the balance of things too much. Then again, who cares?;)

And yes cherokee, I did hear about those shots from the Dr. That's why I eat an apple a day. I did get some balm from him though, for my democraticks.

I describe myself as a rational anarchist,

hehe that's cute that you had to clarify that.

Which one are you, texas guy>? an irrational, or rational anarchist?

Welcome to DP, anarchy is fine with me as long as you lean more towards anarcho-capitalism than socialist-anarchy.

When it comes to anarchy, I think of it in terms of evolution/revolution. I'm a firm believer in the evolutionary process (because I'm an optimist).

However, I'm also no fool. I realize the "Evolution" will not be recieved well by all (especially those who count their money in millions, billions and trillions) so I keep an open mind about the "Revolution". If this makes me "irrational", so be it.

I do believe anarchy is the way the world, as a whole, will eventually live. Once we all learn self-control, that is. When the human race finally achieves self-control, there will no longer be any need for governments. No governments, no wars. No wars. Peace.

Well im starting to like the idea of anarcho capitalism more and more, so please explain how it is not true anarchy?

Could you please articulate the "dark side." I've always wanted to be considered part of the dark side but my opposition to any use of force or sacrifice seems to get in the way...

A fellow Texan!

Welcome to Debate Politics!

As long as people believe in god, there will be war.

The anarcho/capitalist claim to be anarchist, comes from the dictionary. Basically, he thinks the definition "opposed to any form of government" makes him an anarchist. It does not.

The anarcho/capitalist support the idea of private property (i.e. industry, agriculture, resources) and this, absolutely, removes them from the list of anarchist. JMO.

I think organized religion, not God, is the real problem.

Well, private property is a facet of capitalism. I mostly meant that I am leaning in that direction because of the principals, not the symantecs. Mostly because conservatives have forget what limited government and fiscal responsibility mean.

I remember a Texas joke from back in the day. About Earl Cambell.

Earl Cambell was a football player for the Houston Oilers way back when.

He was from Tyler and they called him the Tyler Rose. Then he moved to Plano. Then they just called him a Plano N*****.

Angelina County? Cool. I kicked it around Lufkin quite a bit myself. My Uncle retired there at the Foundry and we used to have our family reunions there at Chambers park. He lived on the next street over. Trout St.
Went to school in Nacogdoches Co. (SFA) for two semesters.

Ever been around Crockett/Grapeland way? I am very familiar with Angelina, Cherokee, Trinity, Nacogdoches, Anderson and Houston County. Beautiful place.

I get pretty homesick sometime.

I understand, and the principals of the anarcho are (more or less) in line with anarchist. My point was, anarchy and capitalism don't mix. They're like oil and water. The name "anarcho/capitalist" is like nails on a chalk board to an anarchist.

That's what I was joking about the other day. The "darkside" comment. If you (or anyone) would like to be an Anarchist, you must put down your shiny rocks and little pieces of paper. Only then can you walk into the light.;)

I hunt and fish year round, so I'm very familiar with most of East Texas. If it lies between the Gulf and the Red River and east of I-45, I'm there! We used to run deer dogs in Trinity County near Goat Hill years ago,'till they outlawed it. The Neches River is my 2nd home. Boggy Slough, Alabama Creek and Dollarhide are among my favorite haunts. I fish all over and have a couple of "honey holes" in Houston County and I turkey hunt with a friend on his lease there, too.

My biggest Largemouth to date was take at Houston County Lake at a spot they call "Po Boy's Camp." I have taken quite a few lunkers out of White Rock Creek near Trinity. But I know some stock ponds that are chock full o' lunkers around Crockett and Grapeland.

I fish all the time too bro. If I ain't rockin', I'm either fishin' or sleepin'.

I love to fish for Red's and Speck's too. Heck, I love fishing for just about anything.
