NEW YORK Appearing on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" tonight, Democratic Party chief Howard Dean told host Jon Stewart, "I know half your audience wants us to impeach the president"-- this drew wide cheers -- "but it's not going to happen." "

Well glad Howard got the two legislative branchs in order and on the program. So what will his next order to Pelosi and Reid be?"

He also went on to note:

"Stewart apologized to Dean, and admitted he was wrong, for telling him on a previous appearance that the Democrats could not possibly win unless they staked out a clear policy on Iraq and other issues."

Well ole Howard got that one right on the nose didn't he, they sure don't have a clear policy on anything.

It is interesting that the Dems spent so much time and energy running on the notion that Bush may be impeached, knowing full well it was a baseless idea and could never happen. Only now does Dean have to explain to the constituents that it's not going to happen. That's called being scammed by your own party.

Funny that Pelosi already said weeks ago that impeachment would not be on the agenda if the Dems won the House. Funny your link didnt mention that...... oops, where is your link? Something tells me that if you are not posting your link, you must be ashamed of it. Is there something about your link that forum members need to know, which is the reason you are not posting it?

Re: Dean hijacks Congress from Pelosi and Reid

Not sure about a link, or the title for that matter, but I can confirm that Howard Dean did say this last night on the Daily Show. But I guess it's moot if Pelosi has been saying it for weeks.

My link is right here. Funny that your name is CurrentAffairs, in light of your own failure to keep up with current affairs. This has been public knowlege for a very long time.

But I made my point that you try and be a jerk at every turn. "ooops, where is your link", and all that crap. Grow up.

1) In case you didnt know, forum rules state that a link is required for a thread in current events. If you still dont know, then read the rules again.

2) In other words, you are saying now that you already knew Pelosi said what she said, but just decided that I needed a good insult instead? Yea, right. LOL.

Very aware of that, just like Stinger is. But, oops, you can't pass up the chance to be a smart ***, right, dan? Like I said, you might think about acting like a grown up.

Funny you didnt take any credit for already knowing that in the first place. I mean, all you had to do was to say, "Yes, Pelosi said that, but where is your link". Why didnt you? Because you didnt know, and its quite apparent. LOL.

He's just ranting cause I've had him on ignore since his phoney post about the Army poll. Honest mistake I saved the post before I pasted the link. It's been corrected.

Back to the issue, can you believe how they worded the article? Dean is head of the DNC not the congress. Sounds like the congress is being run out of the DNC headquarters.

Do you not see the idiocy of this question? Dan, you could have kindly asked stinger the same question....instead you slung your smart *** crap, as usual. You could have said, Stinger, let's see a link. Why always take the low road, dan?

Once again, Pelosi has been saying this for many weeks already, and because Dean says it on the John Stewart show yesterday, it is somehow his idea? Do you realize how weird that sounds? Dont you think somehow, that Democrats sat down together and decided to make non-impeachment part of their governing style a long time ago, rather than Dean just barking an order weeks after Pelosi had already stated it?

Re: Dean hijacks Congress from Pelosi and Reid

Children children, this is pointless bickering, who said what or when or to whom and is there a link or not.
You should really try to act like the adults you claim to be.

A thread started with dishonesty and continued with but slander and insult. Isn't the basement where such threads belong?

Join us in discussing the topic and the basement won't be necessary.

Re: Dean hijacks Congress from Pelosi and Reid

This thread's title does not match the linked article.

Just my observation, but it seems to be that the posters who keep violating this rule are usually the ones who have been here long enough to know better.

It is my understanding that the reason for that rule is to prevent exactly what has happened in this thread....

Re: Dean hijacks Congress from Pelosi and Reid

The democratic leaders have never claimed they would impeach Bush. Republicans used this as a fear tactic, and liberals called for it because they are, well liberals.

Impeaching Bush would be a pointless task and a waste of money. Democrats control the house and the senate what would they gain by impeaching Bush?

Just because Dean says there won't be impeachment and it happens to be the first time you heard this doesn't mean it was his decision or that he makes decisions.

Every time a single democrat says something doesn't make it the democratic policy.

Re: Dean hijacks Congress from Pelosi and Reid

On the subject of Dean 'hijacking' Congress:

It has been aptly shown, precisely parallel with the bickering, that Dean is in no way running Congress, nor planning to. He was expressing what has already been decided will be the mode of the new Congress. There is nothing in the articles, unless statements are taken completely out of context, to indicate that Dean is attempting to 'hijack' anything. Therefore, when people attempt to say that he is, it should be seen as an attempt to spin.

How so, it is exactly about the article, Dean declaring what the new congress will do and hijacking it from Pelosi and Reid.

He used the inclusive "we" and when did Pelosi assign him as the spokesperson for her and the congress?
