How will history judge Donald Trump as President ?

An uneducated, fumbling, bumbling, sociopathic imbecile, with world class stupidity and incompetence, who was yet still able to convince 37% of the country that he was the answer to their problems.

As a guy who was not allowed so much as one day to prove himself on the job, as America was coming apart and as the West was dying.
Trump proved himself, in many respects, before he took one step into the White House.

I believe Trump will be in the bottom 2 or 3.

As a guy who was not allowed so much as one day to prove himself on the job, as America was coming apart and as the West was dying.

A president who could take no personal responsibility.

A president who could take no personal responsibility.

Trump noticed that American is in trouble and he stepped up at great personal sacrifice near the end of his life when he could have sat back and enjoyed his success....So No.

An uneducated, fumbling, bumbling, sociopathic imbecile, with world class stupidity and incompetence, who was yet still able to convince 37% of the country that he was the answer to their problems.

On top of that, a conman who thought he could continue the same shady business practices in US government, only to find out that its a totally different world. And he got exposed as a fraud.

He and his supporters will be laughed at for decades to come.

I don’t know if they will be laughed at.

I firmly believe this period of time will go down as one of the dark stains on our nation’s history. Trump will be synonymous with corruption and illegalities.

His supporters will be viewed with contempt for lacking the intellectual curiosity to inform themselves of his known corruption beforehand. And for sycophantically turning a blind eye to his multitude of corrupt, criminal actions during the campaign and once in office.

Trump and Trump supporters will be remembered by history as a cautionary tale of a conman looking for the worst, most base emotions of a certain segment of the populace, who are largely driven by fear due to a constant deluge of propaganda originating in rightwing media, and preying on this fear to usurp power and financial gain for himself, while breaking the law in doing so.

Trump noticed that American is in trouble and he stepped up at great personal sacrifice near the end of his life when he could have sat back and enjoyed his success....So No.

Bless your heart for believing that drivel.

History will not remember him kindly. Look already he is being linked with Nixon.

"Trump debuts in last place in political scientists’ “Presidential Greatness Rankings”

"...a group of more than 170 scholars from the American Political Science Association released a survey today (on Presidents’ Day, the national holiday celebrating those who have held the office), which aims to calculate the “greatness” of every US president. Trump debuted in last place..."

Of the 44 men who have served as President of the USA, Trump is rated as the worst.

Worse than Grant.
Worse than Harding and Harrison.

He is a man unfit to be President.

I scanned your link.

Did the biased, academic ideologues who were surveyed do any actual work on this or just give their lock step, knee jerk reaction? Lock step knee jerk sounds like an intricate dance step...

Did they use any kind of measurables? Economic improvement? Size of electoral victory? Increases in personal freedom? ANYTHING? Did the thinkers actually do their work or did they just keep on thinking?

Just wondering if credentialed idiots are any smarter just because they all agree with each other. You know. Like the members of any other mob.

As one of the five worst presidents in US history. Down there with Harding and Filmore.

I also predict that they will give an analysis of the 2016 primaries that would be wildly unpopular today.

I don't understand the highlighted text.

What will be wildly unpopular? The analysis or the primaries or something else?

That survey is a year old. It has been discussed a great deal already.

For me the most notable thing about it is that even the Republican scholars put in him the bottom five.

What were the comparative measurables used to make this assessment?

Trump created a new level in the rankings. He found the sub-basement of the sub-basement.

Do you reach this conclusion because he increased the personal freedom for all American Citizens and enhanced the prospect of increased personal wealth for all American Citizens?

If yes, that "basement" sounds like the place where aspiration lives.

History? Let's see how the 2020 elections judge him, my guess, not kindly...if he lasts that long.

Pretty much what the intelligentsia was saying about Reagan at this point in his Presidency.

Then he missed carrying all 50 states by 0.18% of the vote in Minnesota a couple years later. Mondale also carried the District of Columbia.

Reagan won big because of two things: Things were better for the average guy than they were when Reagan took office. The average guy KNEW, in spite of what was being reported, that things were better for him than when Reagan took office.

Reagan was portrayed by the media as being dangerously stupid, hopelessly out of touch, probably senile or mentally impaired, a threat to national security and overmatched when pitted against the savvy Russian Leader.

Any of this press coverage sound familiar during the Trump years?

As an aside, the previous President to Reagan stated pretty clearly that the best days of the USA had passed and we, as Americans, needed to accept that the time of our ascendancy was over.

The media has one play book and they follow the same plays every time a Republican is elected. It is so predictable it gets tiresome.

Reagan reversed the trajectory of the country on all levels for all citizens and instituted a new American Dominance in the world. If press coverage is any indication, Trump is doing the same thing.

Trump shows every sign of screaming past James Buchanan to the very bottom of the list.

Notice none of us need many keystrokes to answer this question. its just too easy.

How many keystrokes does an utter lack of knowledge require to be presented accurately?

He and his supporters will be laughed at for decades to come.

The best employment and wage numbers in history cause me to smile. Laugh? Not really a laugher when it comes to my personal well being.

What is that you would prefer Trump do?

Present a misspelled, wrongly interpreted Re-Set Button to Putin? Maybe promise greater flexibility?

Declare that manufacturing jobs never could and never would return to the USA?

Expand the "duties" of White House interns to once again include deep knee bends in the Oval Office?

Double the National Debt in 8 years?

What is it that you're looking for?

That a big "If".

Not really. Way too much smoke thus far. I would say this "if" has a better than 60% chance of being mostly true.

Reagan is not trump. I don't expect the amount of democrats who voted for reagan will vote for trump. We'll see.

A mistake.

I get it, you have a better grasp on what Presidents are good and bad than 170 scholars of Presidential actions. Could you please give us your credentials to judge so we can take your response seriously? instead of the laughing joke that it is right now!

An uneducated, fumbling, bumbling, sociopathic imbecile, with world class stupidity and incompetence, who was yet still able to convince 37% of the country that he was the answer to their problems.

And after doing that, he managed to deliver on almost every one of his campaign promises in less than two years to create:

The most Americans ever employed at one time.
Historically low unemployment rates for most demographics.
Highest average wage rates ever.
Energy independence for the USA.
Greatest personal wealth for Americans in history.
Expanding base of business.
Higher optimism for a better future among American Citizens.
Hundreds of record closes in the major stock indices.

This just goes on and on.

If Trump was a Democrat, he'd already be on Mount Rushmore.

Worse than Nixon, and that's a really low bar, IMHO.

I'm pretty sure he'll be regarded as one of the worst, if not the worst, and one completely unfit for office and who did not show the office or the Republic the respect deserved of The People.

I believe Trump will be in the bottom 2 or 3.

Trump was an unqualified success in most endeavors across a variety of disciplines before he declared his candidacy.

Then he won the nomination. ANOTHER unqualified success. Then he won the election. ANOTHER unqualified success.

The guy just keeps on winning.

You're being deceived by those that hate him. Do you wonder why everything the Never Trumpers say is unsupported by real world fact?
