The majority of congress are career politicans. They spend literally hundreds of thousands of dollars to be elected. There is a reason. . . . . .

Would it benefit the country if all lobbists were prohibited from financial influence of our politicians? We would probably change politicians in a term or two, unless they really care about the country. Afterall, what do they do now except collect money from lobbists?

Easy to find a loophole. Get people who aren't registered as lobbiests to do the bribing.

Unfortunately, the only solution I know of is unconstitutional according to the supreme court, so basically we have written our own destruction in this regard while half the population cheers it on.

First you start with the man in the mirror, HEE!
Ask him to change his ways, HEEHEE!
No message could have been any clearer, SHAMONA!
If you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make that change, JENOIT! HEEHEEHEE!

Give each candidate a set number of money that they can spend that can be raised through disclosed donation. That not only evens up the election process, but allows people to see who's pocket they're in. Then, just maybe, the Supreme Court can be faced with a new case that strips businesses of their first ammendment rights that they don't deserve anyway. The Bill of Rights was meant for people, not for business to use for their own gain. Next thing you know a business will raise a militia to "influence" other businesses to sell out because, after all, it is their Constitutional righ, right?

There needs to be more oversight on the politicians.

What would be so bad about a yearly audit for ALL politicians? Let's see the Democrats and Republicans whine and cry about how bad "the other guys" are, when after an audit, we find out they're just as bad (or worse). How hypocritical would it be for politicians to denounce "evil rich" people's evil practices, if all their insider trading and under-the-table deals were brought out into the light?

I don't really have a problem with lobbying so I reject the premise. I think complaining about lobbying is an excuse for much more complex problems. It's an easy punching bag.
