The Haymarket affair (also known as the Haymarket massacre or Haymarket riot) was the aftermath of a bombing that took place at a labor demonstration on Tuesday May 4, 1886, at Haymarket Square[2] in Chicago. It began as a peaceful rally in support of workers striking for an eight-hour day and in reaction to the killing of several workers the previous day by the police. An unknown person threw a dynamite bomb at police as they acted to disperse the public meeting. The bomb blast and ensuing gunfire resulted in the deaths of seven police officers and at least four civilians; scores of others were wounded.
In the internationally publicized legal proceedings that followed, eight anarchists were convicted of conspiracy. The evidence was that one of the defendants may have built the bomb, but none of those on trial had thrown it.[3][4][5][6] Seven were sentenced to death and one to a term of 15 years in prison. The death sentences of two of the defendants were commuted by Illinois governor Richard J. Oglesby to terms of life in prison, and another committed suicide in jail rather than face the gallows. The other four were hanged on November 11, 1887. In 1893, Illinois' new governor John Peter Altgeld pardoned the remaining defendants and criticized the trial.
The Haymarket affair is generally considered significant as the origin of international ...
Communist Radical Angela Davis on Stopping Trump: ‘We have to do whatever is necessary’

Angela Davis is a radical left-wing communist who was once on the FBI’s most wanted list. Naturally, today she’s a college professor who’s celebrated by the left as a civil rights activist.
Given her violent past, isn’t it a cause for concern when she says ‘We have to do whatever is necessary’ to stop a Donald Trump presidency?

Given her violent past, isn’t it a cause for concern when she says ‘We have to do whatever is necessary’ to stop a Donald Trump presidency?

Angela Davis on defeating Trump: ‘We have to do whatever is necessary’
Activists around the world have long turned to Angela Davis for scholarly guidance when discussing systems of oppression and power.
This week in New York, the radical feminist activist issued a rallying cry to Americans: to avoid a Donald Trump presidency, “we have to do whatever is necessary.”
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Davis became a household name in 1969 when she was removed from her teaching post at the University of California Los Angeles for social justice work and her affiliation with the Communist Party. She made the F.B.I.’s Ten Most Wanted list on false charges soon after, starting the 1970s with a 16-month incarceration and trial that sparked an international campaign when the world demanded that the United States government “Free Angela Davis.”
Former California Governor Ronald Reagan swore then that the philosophy professor would never teach in the University of California system again.
Nine books and four decades later, a vocal Davis is now Distinguished Professor Emerita of History of Consciousness at U.C. Santa Cruz – an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program the likes of which are only possible because of the radical scholarship she laid as groundwork.
Frontpage Mag provides some background on Davis:
Who is Davis? She’s a Communist and a supporter of the Black Panther Party as well as homicidal British Black Power cult leader Michael X and the Soledad Brothers — who were acquitted of a prison guard’s murder in 1970.
That year, Davis was arrested and jailed for having bought the gun used in the Soledad Brothers’ escape attempt: an attack in open court in California, which led to a shootout with the police and resulted in the death or injury of six people. She was eventually found not guilty.
Davis has enjoyed massive support from the global left. When she was released from prison, she visited Cuba, then Russia, where she was awarded the Lenin Peace Prize. She spoke against racism in America and became a glamorized spokeswoman for Communism as a solution for black Americans and for oppressed people of color everywhere.
Just like Obama’s pal Bill Ayers, Angela Davis’ past has been rewritten by the left to transform her into an activist rather than what she is – a violent criminal.
In recent years, under the tender tutelage of the Obama Department of Justice, mass violent action by leftists has become commonplace across the country, from the Occupy Wall Street movement to Black Lives Matter-inspired mob violence in Ferguson and Baltimore, from campus chaos at California State University of Los Angeles to this sort of violence at Trump rallies.
Violence in response to political differences is immoral and unacceptable. Politicians who egg people on to violence are at least partly responsible for the violence. Politicians are not responsible for violence against them.

Remember: If you man the barricades you take the risk of dying there along with the comrades you brought with you.
If you advocate violence against political opponents surely you can't complain if you are injured or killed by the same sort of violence.
Can there be any doubt about what the left would be like if they manage to take power? Just like every other leftist government that has ever been, the latest example being Venezuela, where the government is killing and starving its own citizens at an increasing rate and a bloody, chaotic denouement has become inevitable.

So, unless Trump has very good security, we'll be seeing more Leftie Political Assassinations soon.

Greetings, Kurmugeon. :2wave:
I had the same thought recently!Probably not too far out of the realm of possibility, I guess, and that's disgusting. I don't always agree with the other candidates either, but I don't want to see them dead! WTH? Only certain people have freedom of speech now?
Greetings, Polgara. :2wave:
Trump was my 4th level choice. But I respect the democratic process, rule-of-law, and the people's right to pick their leaders.
There is a very interesting historical character, John Locke, who is seen by many as the founder of "Liberalism". He wrote political essays and founded the concepts which would later be used by Thomas Jefferson in drafting our Declaration of Independence.
Locke was flawed in many ways, including a personal quirk belief that Atheists and Catholics deserved summary death.
But he was way ahead of anyone else in his era, in understanding the principles of good Governance.
In essence, he outlined the concept of the Natural Law requirement for any stable Government to enter into a "Social Contract" with the people, and that the Responsibilities between the Leaders and the People go both directions. Without the "Consent of the Governed", stable Government cannot be achieved.
When an Assassin takes the life of a Leader selected by a majority of the people, it is NOT just an attack against that Leader, it is a direct assault against the "Social Contract" of ALL the people and all of the Leaders.
I don't like what I see in some areas of Trump's leadership.
I like what I see in Hillary allot less.
Obama has proven himself 10X worse than either.
I do NOT want Any of them Assassinated.
