This is an interesting map.

I can compare my experience with what I might experience in a different State.

Just looking at the map, I'd bet there's also some general positive correlation to income & education too.

I must be freedom loving as defined by this research, because my natural proclivity seems to be to green with an aversion to red!

But I must point this out: I see no consideration for gun rights, which many see as an important component of 'freedom'.

And voting Republican :)

CODE ORANGE, fellow Georgians! Hide the pornography and alcohol before your aunt tells the entire church to pray for your salvation!

I didn't know Finland, Iran, Uzbekistan and Russia were part of America:mrgreen:

This might explain Utah's rather generous rating:

One key finding: The biggest consumers of online adult entertainment live in the great state of Utah. An average of 5.47 people per 1000 broadband subscribers pay for porn in Orrin Hatch's home state. (Utah also leads in porn consumption among the general population and dial-up users, in case you're wondering.)

Its those polygamists.

The map would be better if it broke down those things. I don't necessarily group all those together nor are they single issues. (LGBT rights, abortion, pornography, alcohol, prostitution, drugs, capital punishment, conscription, internet censorship, incarceration rate and freedom of expression)

The map would be better if you charted what the colors mean.

The map would be better if you told us what the colors represent.

Why would I have to do that, its not my map or my thread, but the list in the OP and the link does that.

What is the source of the information? Did you just make this chart up?

From what I see, voting Republican would be negative correlation with much of the green on the map! No?

...but positive with the red.

True enough

These maps should be handed out to recently released felons so they can choose where they wish to live. Less chance of going to prison, here... here and here...

(There's a link in the OP just above the map)

The link is for Chartsbin which is a site which lets you make your own charts, hence me asking if he had just made this himself. I can't find a source for these stats anywhere.
