How parents are treated at school meetings

So he was supposed to write his question down to ask it and instead made an outburst at a meeting that was not supposed to have anyone asking questions aloud? Well, if it wasn't for knowing the human race and how radicals have taken to hijacking meetings with disruptions to derail them i would probably agree with the idea he should have been allowed to ask his question without submitting it on paper, but when you deal with spoiled children sometimes you have to keep order and get things done. This is what you get when you start disrupting meetings, and i don't think i saw you complaining about this sort of thing when they silenced people in texas over the abortion bill when they were disrupting their house. I do not see anything indicating he was unable to write out his question because of handicap so I see no reason for special rights for this guy.

Why do you feel he deserves special rights?

Oh, and yes resisting police would probably lead to a charge for physically resisting. It is the price you pay for protesting sometimes.

You seem to completely miss what's relevant here. Did you watch the video. Yes of course he was suppose to write his questions down, and ignored that rule, you could even argue that he be asked to leave the meeting. But charged with assaulting an officer, a crime that carries a ten year sentence?

There is a difference between being charged and being convicted. Yes, resisting an officer is going to get you a charge. Come back when he gets ten years if the charge is not dropped outright when he calms himself. Oh, and you do not have a right to resist officers, though you can defend yourself in court, lodge a complaint, and file a civil suit against the city.

So your first amendment is limited to what you think may be a question later in a meeting? How nice.
Well I guess thats one way to maintain the status quo.

Yep anyone that lays hands on and shoves around a citizen should be tazed.

Our school treats us with all the respect they would an ATM machine. Give them money, and they love you. Don't give them money, and they kick and scream at you. ;)

Oh yeah, and there is some parent committee that has something to do with the curriculum, but we have never bothered to be involved or even be involved with those who are involved with that. "Here's the check. Here's the kid. Try to return him in one piece, or at least no more than 2 pieces, and we are good."

They should have tased the asshole

That would have attracted even more attention to his cause.

I bet more people around the country are finding out what Common Core is all about, thanks to this little ordeal gone viral.

In that case, it's killing two birds with one stone

1) Asshole gets tazed

2) People find out about Common Core

when the Heritage foundation and Cato institute is joined by the Brookings institute in opposition to this stuff, folks might want to pay attention a bit more.

but , meh, one-size-fits-all "teaching to the test" is all the rage now... so we are trying to double down on that particular agenda.
we're out to get better test results...nothing less, nothing more.

funny... asking a question aloud, during a school board meeting is somehow seen by lefties as "special rights".

here's a news flash for ya, just because some government functionary decides it's better that you don't get to speak aloud , doesn't mean you have to listen to him or her

do you agree with Sangha that this parent should have been tazed for asking questions??

anyways, you lefties will be pissed off knowing they dropped the charges on the guy

So a father is an asshole for questioning the school board where his children go to school. Wow.

Yes, when no one is allowed to ask questions aloud and you decide those rules do not apply to you, then that is you considering yourself to have special rights. Like I said, I can see why the meetings become closed with the way republicans, and now it seems democrats also, have decided that disruption is a way they can avoid a losing battle. But he felt he should be the only person there to speak, and he found out he was wrong. If he was protesting the rule that no one could speak then he most certainly would have brought others with him who felt it was wrong, but he chose to feel the rules specifically do not apply to him and they showed him otherwise. It is not a leftie thing, and I am noting that you lie there, because we saw it happen in the texas legislature just a little while back where they silenced opponents so they could vote on a abortion bill. So it seems to be a government thing, despite you clear bias and ignoring some rather prominent examples.

yes, you do not have to listen. You can be disruptive like a spoiled two year old and get arrested. There is no one actually stopping you from taking that path, but if your goal is to have your question addressed you will probably want to follow the proper procedure. You have two basic choices. pitch a fit and go to jail without your question answered, or write it down and have them go over it. If your goal is to be an attention whore and get into the news, perhaps you chose to pitch a fit.

For resisting the police, perhaps if the situation called for it. Personally i would find the video much more entertaining had he been screaming Don't taze me bro. But you do not make news if you comply and simply get arrested without resistance. he wanted his attention and he got what he wanted. If he actually wanted a question answered he could have written it down and avoided going to court.

I figured they probably would. They just wanted him out, and to give him a bit of a taste of what can happen if he continues to be a disruption. It is not surprising nor does it bother me, which perhaps might annoy you. But if your only reason to bitch is that it is going to annoy the lefties I have to say you probably are just fine with this being done by the right. uh oh, hypocrisy.

The 1st Amendment is a "special right"?

The people in that room are all cowards for not bum-rushing the mall cop and kicking his ass for violating the rights of a fellow American.

you could have just said " always do what the government functionaries tell you to do.. or face punishment "... you didn't have to get all wordy on us.

The 1st Amendment is a "special right"?

Sorry to tell you, but the first does not apply everywhere. If you want to protest that i suggest you go someplace other than a school board meeting. However, yes there are many instances in our government where the public is not allowed entrance or to ask questions during the procedure. But if you do not believe me you local town has a court, and any day they are in session have fun asking a question from the audience. Thinking you have more rights than others is a special right, and that is what this guy thought, and what you are arguing for because I am sure you do not give a damn if a dem had that happen to them.
The people in that room are all cowards for not bum-rushing the mall cop and kicking his ass for violating the rights of a fellow American.

hey, you know where the town hall is, and you are physically capable of acting on that impulse yourself. The fact you don't shows you probably are well aware you do not have a right to assault a cop doing their job. Whatever you wish to call them is the same thing you are. I personally would call them people who don't give a damn if a disruptive moron gets arrested, but that is just me, and I am not going to attack a cop for him.

The government is much bigger than you, and if you do not want it wedging it's size one millions up your ass you should chose your battles. It is a fact of life. I am pretty sure from the outrage that whatever question he was incapable of submitting in writing would not be worth the fines or jail time. But any time it is you can feel free to join all those OWS people and get your ass handed to you.

the audacity!... he should be a good parent and citizen and sit down and shut up when some bureaucrat tells him to!

Or just write his question down and get it answer like everyone else and not try to invoke his special rights.

That the charges were dropped so fast is evidence that they were wrong to begin with.
