The corruption of the Democrat Party has become so in-your-face-obvious despite the lies and cover-ups by their Progressive Main Stream Media cheerleaders that it has become a ridiculous joke.
For too many years the signs of corruption have been everywhere and nonstop!
And the Democrat Party has now begun introducing US politics to Banana Republic style corruption with their ever-expanding ballot manipulations.
How could any honest self-respecting American possibly still support this 20th Century Democrat Party?

This election wasn't about supporting the Democratic Party. 95% of Democrats voted for their congressional candidates, 94% of republicans for theirs. Independents gave the House to the Democrats by voting for Democratic congressional candidates 54-42 with 4% voting third party.

On election day 2018, only 21% of independents viewed the Democrats in congress favorably, 50% unfavorably. while at the same time 24% of independents viewed Republicans in congress favorably, 47% unfavorably. Questions 59A and B.

It's easy to see that independents which gave the house to the Democrats this year didn't care for either party. Also note that in 2016 independents voted for Trump 46-42 with 12% voting third party and for Republican congressional candidates 51-47 over the Democrats. Why? Why the huge change?
For independents, the answer is easy, Trump. I've been saying all along and getting laughed at by Republicans and Trump supporters that independents don't like the unpresidential behavior of the president. They viewed him as obnoxious and uncouth. Policy wise and stances on issues, independents were fairly evenly split on those, for some, against some. It's Trump's persona, his personality more akin to a WWE wrestler than an occupant of the White House. They don't like his name calling, his temper tantrums much like a five year old whose parents failed to teach him any manners. Perhaps the bottom line is most independents expect a president to act presidential.
Gallup said this back in July 2017, I think it still applies. "Trump's unique personal style, brashness and disregard for conventional political norms and discourse -- while clearly a negative for many during the campaign -- helped him stand out from other Republican contenders and ultimately contributed to his victory in November. Six months into his presidency, these same characteristics remain prominent in the minds of his detractors and remain the most frequently cited reasons as to why the majority of Americans think he is not doing a good job."

Bottom line as far as I'm concerned, Trump's distasteful personality, his repulsive behavior as president cost the Republicans the House. Not so much his policies, as I stated, independents were split on those. It's his character that drove independents into the hands of the Democrats. Away from Trump and his republican counterparts.
It will only get worse for the GOP and Trump, Trump won't change. Like the ACA hung like an albatross around their necks costing the democrats first the House in 2010, then the senate in 2014. Trump is that albatross for the GOP, costing them the House this year, most likely the senate in 2020.
