How much is the Dem majority in the Senate really in play in 2014?

How Doomed Are Democrats in the Senate? - David Weigel, Slate

Just asking . . .

Harry Reid has done his best to protect the vulnerable Dems by not bringing controversial bills up for a vote! However, when he has no choice, as we have seen recently, they will jump ship to protect their own jobs, much to Reid and Obama's disgust. Party over country seems to be the rule of the day in DC, unless it's their personal continuing employment at stake! Where have the warriors gone? :wow:

Happy Sunday morning to you, Jack. :2wave:

Yup. Good morning and Happy Sunday, Polgara.:2wave:

Not very. Only the most rabid elements of the right fail to realize that our recession was caused by, exacerbated by, and maintained by Republicans. Yeah, they stoked up the racist vote pretty hard in 2010, but that's not likely to continue. Maybe we'll get a filibuster proof senate and a Dem house and actually start fixing our problems instead of just taking 40 votes to repeal Obamacare and blocking every single jobs bill.

The Democrats shold have plenty to worry about, but they don't.

Their opponents are Republicans and they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

The Republicans are faced with defeating the most profound failure in the history of politics or governance or both and they are screwing the pooch. They do this well and repeatedly.

The Democrats are like a very bad sports team in an even worse division. They just keep winning the division because the competition just isn't there.

The Republicans are a joke and the Democrats are laughing at them.

You're STILL blaming Bush?

Wow!

How Doomed Are Democrats in the Senate?

As long as we have people infected with the wealth envy plague, and left-wing neo-fascist politicians there to feed that envy, they don't have very much to worry about.

Wave "free" stuff in front of them like a carrot to an ass, and those voters will sell their souls to you.

You're STILL blaming Bush?

Wow!

Bush is hardly the only one who deserves blame for all this. It starts at least with Reagan and his cronies, and continues with the Republicans in congress today. Ever since the right wing's financial strategy became "just give all the money to the rich people." They've done nothing but damage this country.

2000 years from now, Al Queda will still be blamed for crashing jets into the WTC.

And bush* will be blamed for creating the financial crisis of 2008

Only by those who don't understand what happened and why.

I'm guessing this means you.

Your lack of intelligence on this topic is astonishing.

It's difficult to understand how reality can be ignored to this degree.
