So you don't think that they enable Putin to remain in power? A lot of these people have friends and relatives in the Ukraine being slaughtered. They are part of the country that is destabilizing the world. They could stand with Ukraine.
They're Russians. They have a leader who's Russian -- "Enabling Putin" is leftist tears; that's it. It's irrelevant to the majority of those people.

Putin stated in 2007 that he wasn't going to have NATO touching Russian borders. Ukraine borders Russia and Ukraine wants to be part of NATO, so you fill in the blanks.

As a practical matter, nations deal with each other as collective entities. This includes war. I agree that citizens of democracies are More responsible for the depredations of their governments. However, when a government gets sufficiently out of hand, the results do, and should, fall on all of its citizens eg. Hiroshima. This is necessary to give all of those citizens a sufficient incentive to overthrow their government, even when doing so is personally dangerous. This is what the Ribbentropp plotters attempted, to prevent the destruction of Germany. Who knows whether they would have attempted it without that prospect.
