How many mags? [W:213, 298]

I try to keep 5 for each gun. I have only 2 for my .22 GSG as its pretty much just a plinker.
For all other 1911s including my 9mm I keep 5.
20 For the AR.
8 for the AK.

I have a thing for multiples, so it's not a matter of "these go with that" as much as it is "all of these go with those". I have 3 10 22s, all different, but 6 10 round and 6 25 round mags for the bunch. Likewise my Glock pistol and Sub2000 take the same mags, so.... a bunch. For the other pistols that are singles 2-3 apiece works pretty well.

I don't go too crazy. I have 4 or 5 mags for everything except a Taurus PT24/7 that I'm planning on getting rid of.

Five would be a bare minimum. I have three guns and each have 15-30 mags...

Is now, maybe. Maybe if anti gun or non gun people see some intelligent discussion of what gun owners REALLY are like. It may change some attitudes.

Owning even one gun is one gun too many. Gun ownership is a right but it is also a vice, let's not forget.

I think gun people would do a better job convincing anti gun people if they focus on sound logical arguments on property rights. It's going to be impossible to convince normal people that guns are good.

Guns are like drugs. Recreational use is always bad, but sometimes it is necessary in the hands of a professional under extremely limited circumstances. Drugs are necessary for a sick person under a doctor's care; guns are necessary for a soldier or cop on duty. But doing drugs or using guns for recreation is just plain reckless and dumb.

We use ours for both range time and peace of mind. Remember law enforcement is not usually there when one finds him/herself in a life threatening situation...

Sorry but facts are facts. You are no exception. By playing around wih guns you are quite literally playing Russian roulette with your loved ones. Very reckless, and a terrible choice of a hobby. Rationalizing it as a means of defense, in spite of the facts, does not change anything.

Good quality ammo is usually stable over many years, but we do FIFO and don't have any that hangs around too long...

FIFO = first in, first out

We generally go to the range twice a month which keeps it cycling through at a moderate rate...
