Biden announced additional sanctions at a labor union speech earlier. When do the Russians take the stance that they are being attacked by the west? Supplying weapons to Ukraine and what basically comes down to economic warfare against Russia is very close to being at war with them. Biden stated that the Russian economy has lost 15 years of gains and will be years recouping the sanction losses. When does Russia figure there is nothing left to lose?

When NATO troops arrive in Kiev or overfly Ukraine. At that point all bets are off, a European conflagration begins and may very well envelop the rest of the world.

Hard to say.

Sanctions are economic warfare and Russia has been under them since at least 2014. I read that around a 1/4 of the worlds populationn are under some sort of US economic sanctions. So if we follow the same logic the US is economically at war with around 2 billion people globally.

My guess and hope is that the Russians are not going to carry on this war a minute longer than they think they have to and if they were intending to stay they would have destroyed the infrastructure in the far west of Ukraine.

I think Putin was wreckless in his willingness to invade Ukraine and he , along with both Ukrainians and Russians, will see no victories from it

Joe Biden, and other Western leaders, clearly told Putin many times and in no uncertain terms that an invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces would trigger new sanctions that would be severe, and never used before anywhere. The US had been sending arms to Ukraine and training Ukrainians at Yazoriv long before the invasion so that aspect is not a new development due to the war. From what I am told, US/NATO military personel in Poland are training the Ukrainians how to use weapon systems they have little experience with (i.e. Stingers, NLAWS, Switchblades, etc).

Putin made his own bed with his decision to invade. He was duly warned.

Never. Russia never comes to the conclusion that there is nothing left to lose, because they're smart enough to know that there's always more to lose.

When threatened in the past what has Russia done? Their people make sacrifices and soldiers follow orders. Why would things be different this time? Especially when NATO seems weak and uninspired.

Good propaganda try (again), but NATO is stronger and more united than it has ever been thanks to Putey.

More NATO troops are in Eastern Europe and the Baltics now than there were before Februsry 24.

Putin made the decision to go to war with the US, that is why he invaded Ukraine. I do not understand how so many people are ignorant of the facts of whats going on. Putin told us already that he plans on nuclear war as his method.

It's time that people get past their denial stage and political bullshit and face reality. Putin told us two things: that Putin would use nukes if Russia's existence were at stake and that their existence is a stake. Add to that Russian state ran media preparing Russians for the idea that Russia is going to use nukes. The world is in a state of emergency what you fear is upon us already.

FFS NATO is not weak or uninspired, sound like you should lay off consuming Putins misinformation anal juice.

Please tell me how many NATO troops are fighting against Russia in the Ukraine today?

A weak NATO provides none.

If you think none is the definition of a strong NATO, Putin thanks you. With your help he looks forward to visiting Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania soon.

Do you think NATO has enough time to prepare to put boots on the ground there should that happen? They had a year+ to prepare for the Ukrainian invasion.

I don't know what grasp of history you have, if any, but if you read more history and less comic books you might have a better understanding how the world works. Not that there is anything wrong with comic books.

Really? Putin attacking Ukraine amounts to Russia going to war with the US? Even Biden has not gone that far.

Are you concerned about mutually assured stupidity?

You are making a lot of assumptions on my behalf. I support military intervention in Ukraine. But also take into account what that means. And understand NATO's current position and why they have not moved in that direction...yet.

Bottom line though NATO isn't weak or being weak. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1293174/nato-russia-military-comparison/

Putin is not that smart though.

The idiot Putin is still a dyed-in-the-wool Russian, who actually loves his country. He's not about to do anything that will result in 800 years of Russian history getting wiped off the map.

Putin loves plundering Russia's wealth and killing its democracy and independent media.

True. AND Putin wants to return Russia to its former glory by reclaiming the boundaries of the former USSR. In fact, both his actions, and those close to him, have said as much.

1. Lend/lease has precedent. In fact, the Russians were one of the prime beneficiaries.
2. It's not like Russia hasn't spent the last 72 years supplying weapons to people we've been fighting.
3. When they feel like all dying at once, that's when they have nothing left to lose.

Totally false, more and more people in the EU are getting that they are being used and made to pay quite havely for a proxy war between the US and Russia, a war that is not theirs!
