How I grew up and quit the Democrats

I snipped the last bit because I want to focus on this. What in the precise **** is this supposed to mean?

You say nobody can define various terms. Then your next sentence assumes that people have in fact defined those terms and challenges others to come up with more definitions. What the hell do you think you're talking about?


PS: It's Trumpists that usually have the definition problem. You lot use "socialist" and "socialism" to mean "Thing that Hannity told me to be mad about"; in reality, it means government ownership of the means of production, something nobody of account advocates.
 
The only thing I want to comment on is the victimhood mentality that republicans have about the media. Check who gets the most hits all over Facebook and Youtube, then check which cable news networks rank the highest. Stop pretending to be a victim.

Was Robert Byrd a Republican? Lyndon Johnson? Strom Thurmond? Every southern Democrat stereotype like Boss Hog, the cast from "Best little Whorehouse In Texas" and Pappy O'Daniel are all based on crooked southern Democrats. How do I know that? Because crooked Democrats ran EVERYTHING until Reagan came along.

The general subject amuses me, not the genealogy screeds. I never really understood partisan political hacks that think everything their party does is right and what the other party does is wrong. It takes a hell of a lot of conditioning, I'd imagine.

So why are there no moves to repeal the New Deal and all the labor protections that it ushered in? Why are there not similar plans in other developed countries? Capitalism is a tremendous force for productivity, but it had been lousy for distribution. All the liberal reforms changed that. Would you rather work in an 1890s factory or a 1990s one? Small examples: I was injured on a job thanks to inadequate protective equipment. Years later, I saw a worker doing the same job, only outfitted with equipment that would have prevented my injury. Farmworkers told me of being sprayed with poisons from airplanes while they were working in the fields some years ago. We now prohibit that. That’s progress, govt regulated capitalism, tho I suppose you might see it as “laws against the people.”

I think that right wingers like to pretend to be oppressed so they don't have to take any legitimate claims of unfairness seriously. The main way they pretend to be victims is by making up the idea that the bulk of media information people are exposed to is left wing.

Think for example of why I was a long term Democrat. First it was my parents religion. I grew up hating Republicans. I used to berate the republicans fiercely as done by Democrats today. Came election time and I ranted against Republicans.

Changed in my early 40s. I grew up.

So how did I manage to change?

As a Republican, I now appreciate the effort it takes to hire workers, plunge your savingings into plant, equipment, paid workers ahead of profits, benefits one pays as an employer, rules employers must follow that workers do not have to follow... I now believe in freedom

Reminds me of the Democrats alleging they are voter victims.

The media is in the tank for Democrats. Watch all of the Media. Tell me who is not in the tank for Democrats. I bet you name Fox, So you know of one in the tank for republicans. This means the rest are in the tank for Democrats. Call them victims if that is your word. My word is supporters.

I would not label such laws as anti capitalism nor for capitalism. They are in the era of safety regulations. Capitalism does not forumuante the unfair treatment of any person no matter who they are or what they do.

I carry to this day a leg injury that happened working at the San Francisco Airport on a construction job where I was well up in the piledriver leads (vertical part that the hammer moves up and down in) and my leg was struck very hard by the cable around the top part of the piling. It pinned me to the pile in fact. I was not clear I could manage to climb down due to the injury and pain. I did manage to get down. The job did not send me to any doctor. Gave me no medicine for pain. And we had Democrats then running America. I believe Kennedy was president. i also got hit in the face at the San Jose State university engineering building job. No medicine at all. And we had a union as well.

Capitalism is free will. It is fair. It is reasonable.

Let me guess, this sudden awakening directly coincides with the Dems passing and Johnson signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Coming from CA to Ft. Benning Georgia in 1962 was a true eye opener. I was myself a Democrat but never saw dirty politics as i saw in the South that election cycle.

It made even me feel dirty. And I was not a citizen of Georgia. Calling those dirty scumbags conservative takes some wild ass huge balls. It is a lie to call any of them conservatives.

Not unless he was living and signing laws in 1980. Johnson was dead when I flipped parties.
