We've now had a couple days with many threads about the Trump indictment. We've seen the liberal reaction to the indictment (mostly elation) and the conservative reaction (a lot about two systems of justice, political prosecution, and election interference).
Does anyone want to talk about how they think this indictment will impact Biden and Dems in the 2024 election?

It'll help them.

Unless you think there are all these undecides sitting around thinking, "You know, I was on the fence before, but now that he's been indicted twice I'm definitely voting for the guy."

depends on if the GOP is stupid enough to make him their nominee.

Don't you mean "second" indictment?

Wait for it. trump doesn't even matter. The republican party lost the 2024 election when they nullified ROE V WADE. trump is nothing but a nuisance player.

Help Dems. As I've posted before, since the document indictments dropped:

Mango MAGAt magnet already has a solid base of followers. Few will change their minds over this...let them waste their time and $$.

However they werent enough to re-elect him in 2020 and the thing is...these blatant, nationally-dangerous charges will not gain him new or independent voters. Some moderate Republicans will switch but more likely, just refuse to vote or do a write-in.

His "base" aint enough.

It can only impact them positively. Ironically however, it could also impact the GOP positively ... IF, and only if, they understand that it provides them an ideal opportunity to dump Trump once and for all. His rapidly expanding legal woes are the perfect pretext to put him behind them, and finally move on to some saner future.

From what I've read in threads, I don't think the left took the view and issue of two systems of justice very seriously. I think, prior to this indictment, they rather flippantly brushed that away by repeating "no one is above the law".
Now, I think that administration/party problem of being viewed as the party stooping to the use of blatantly unfair political attacks on opponents - will be added to other big problems the current administration is knocked for - like the border, inflation and others.

This second indictment cost him many possible supporters, count on it. The next 2 indictments will cost him even more. He's a pathetic piece of scum desperately trying to stay out of prison.

That's because the "two tier system" argument conservatives use is based entirely on false equivalencies.

Which, you'll note, is not actually a defense of Trump as it pertains to the charges.

Do you think this indictment impacts Biden's chances of becoming the Dem nominee - either positively or negatively?

I think it likely ups Trump's chances of becoming the GOP nominee.

LOL what's unfair? His own words condemn him...as do the pictures of stacks and stacks of documents potentially endangering our national security, troops, and spies/staff overseas...in his fancy bathroom and ballroom...accessible to anyone. LMAO, it's hard for the 'regular guy' to relate to chandeliers and ballrooms. There's proof he asked his lawyers to lie. That's conspiracy right there.

Should he not be prosecuted? If not, why not?

Incumbent President will be the nominee.

If Trump is the GOP nominee, incumbent prez will be re-elected.

Do you think this indictment will increase Independent support for Biden and Dems? In other words, do you think Independents will be pleased the Biden administration is trying very hard to take Trump down?
Or, like me, do you think they might see it as political overreach/weaponization and feel that the voters should choose the nominees and winners - without the interference of the incumbent president's AG and department.

Trump has already been receiving special treatment, opening Democrats to criticism Trump successfully intimidates, resulting in exposure of the farcical nature
of claims, "no one is above the law".

Trump was POTUS until shortly before Ms. Winner was finally released from custody, serving the longest period in custody, ever, more than four years. for the offense of releasing one lassifiedv document embarrassing to Trump.

Trump not only still walks the streets, he was photographed just hours ago with co-conspirator in violating the Espionage Act, Walt Nauta, in a Georgia Waffle House!

Denied bail. Reality Winner, after three full years' incarceration, was denied compassionate release during covid-19 epidemic, contracting the disease in federal prison...

"..When FBI agents arrived at her home on June 3, 2017, Winner didn’t insist on consulting a lawyer, and the FBI agents failed to inform her of her Miranda rights when Winner was arrested

However, one of the prosecutors at her bail hearing said, "The government is not in any way suggesting the defendant has become a jihadist or that she is a Taliban sympathizer."

On January 31, 2018, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit affirmed a lower court order blocking Winner from posting bond, determining that no combination of conditions would reasonably assure her presence at trial, thus ensuring that she remained in jail until her trial,[52] which was scheduled to begin on October 15, 2018.[53]

A "Stand with Reality" campaign was formed by representatives from Courage to Resist, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Freedom of the Press Foundation with the goal of "raising public awareness" to ensure that Reality Winner received a fair trial.[54] Billie Winner-Davis, mother of Reality Winner, called on members of the public to join the campaign.[55]

On June 21, 2018, Winner asked the court to allow her to change her plea to guilty.[56] On June 26, she pleaded guilty to one count of felony transmission of national defense information.[57][58] Winner's plea agreement with prosecutors called for her to serve five years and three months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.[59] No one has ever received a longer sentence for leaking classified information to a media outlet.[31]

...

Release from prison

On June 2, 2021, Winner was transferred from prison to a transitional facility,[68] the San Antonio, Texas, Residential Reentry Management center.[69] According to Alison Grinter Allen, Winner's lawyer, she left prison early as a result of "good behavior" while inside, and not because of compassionate release. Betsy Reed, the editor-in-chief of The Intercept, commented, "Selective and politically motivated prosecutions of leakers and whistleblowers under the Espionage Act – which dramatically escalated under Barack Obama, opening the door for the Trump Justice Department's abuses – are an attack on the First Amendment that will one day be judged harshly by history."[35] ..."

God, this is so whiny.

I just answered that. Both.

God, this is so whiny.

Since the crimes and dangers are so clear, it seems she's promoting a rather stupid premise for Dems to swallow. Rather insulting to Dems.

I think it likely ups Trump's chances of becoming the GOP nominee.
I certainly hope so, in fact I'm counting on it, Biden will eat trumps lunch for him.
