How different would reactions be if McCain was President - and the oil spill happened

I think they would have run him up to dry - and then some - the backlash would have been all about how "Republicans are in bed with big oil!"

They would have wanted McCain's head on a platter - and countless numbers would be saying "This wouldn't have happened if Obama was president!"

Mostly would have been role reversal, with those most vigorously defending Obama attacking McCain, and those most vigorously attacking Obama defending McCain. Otherwise mostly the same.
