How can America become more accommodating to the followers of Islam who live here?

New York: Brooklyn Man Arrested - Encouraged ISIS Supporters to Attack NYC Subway System

Zachary Clark aka Umar Kabir aka Umar Shishani aka Abu Talha “provided instructions for how to plan attacks on U.S. soil, encouraging ISIS supporters to attack in well-populated locations.”

Who introduced Clark to Islam? What mosque did he go to? Who was his imam?

Zachary Clark Allegedly Disseminated ISIS Propaganda and Bomb-Making Instructions in an Effort to Incite Acts of Terrorism and Violence In New York City and Elsewhere

The Department of Justice today announced that Zachary Clark, 40, of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested today in Brooklyn. Clark is charged in a criminal Complaint with attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), a designated foreign terrorist organization, and distributing bomb-making instructions. Clark is expected to be presented later today before Magistrate Judge Robert W. Lehrburger in Manhattan federal court.

“The defendant allegedly provided instructions for how to plan attacks on U.S. soil, encouraging ISIS supporters to attack in well-populated locations,” said Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers. “The National Security Division is committed to identifying and holding accountable those who support foreign terrorist organizations and pose a threat to our communities.”

“As alleged, Zachary Clark twice pledged allegiance to ISIS, and posted on encrypted pro-ISIS chatrooms numerous exhortations and instructions on bomb-making and other terrorist acts to be carried out in New York. Thanks to the Joint Terrorist Task Force, Clark now faces serious criminal charges for his alleged support of a terrorist organization bent on killing Americans,” said U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman for the Southern District of New York.

Creeping Sharia

By helping them bring harm to America and Americans?

It hasn't been perfect, I can think of a few Muslim terrorists.

There was that man and wife who shot up his place of work. (not sure if that was workplace violence or religion related)
There were those two brothers who set off pressure cooker bombs at the Boston Marathon.
There was that guy who killed all those gays in Orlando. (not sure if it was religion related)
There was that guy who ran over tourists in New York with a truck.
There was that Somali who attacked shoppers at the mall.
There was that army doctor who shot his patients

But non Muslim terrorists kill a lot more people than Muslims do these days.

Maybe we can all gather on their front lawn dressed in white robes and burn a giant crescent as a sort of welcome to the neighborhood.

There is no friggen Sharia law in this country. The major terrorist and terrorist threats in this coutnry are actually white, right wing christians, not muslims.

The article is the standard racist idiocy from conservatives, spreading hate, lies and fear, because that's all they have.

Also, it is the Christian right trying to enforce teh Christian version of Sharia, trying to force americnas to live by their BS religions "morals". and I put morals in quotes because so many of these people are the most immoral people. Just look at that obscene Ohio law just signed.

So spare us American Taliban, you guys are the real threats

That looks like White Supremacist propaganda, do you frequent those sites?

1. Many sincere Americans say that the majority of people who come here will adapt to American culture and become good Americans, especially their American-born children.

2. They say that the United States of America has nothing to fear from immigrants from non-Christian and non-European nations.

3. Of course, I do not know whether such a point of view is overly optimistic or not.

4. But I DO know that immigrants will continue to come here in ever-growing numbers and that it is a worldwide and irrepressible trend.

I don't see any correlation to your article which intentionally chooses to demonize a sexual child abuser because he 'just happens' to look like he might be of the Islam religion? Don't you find that just a bit xenophobic and racially discriminatory? The site you linked is 'Creeping Sharia' and claims to be "Documenting news on the threat of Islamic sharia law and jihad to freedoms in the U.S., and beyond."

So where in this article does it state that this man is an Arab or a Muslim, a follower of Islam or a believer in Sharia law? Are we to judge this man by his appearance and his name? Incidentally, his surname is of India origin which suggest he 'might' be Islamic. So what? This is precisely the type of hateful website that creates unfounded fear, anger and hatred of all Muslims. It's disgusting. How many Catholic priests have been found to be pedophiles preying on young children and where are they now? They're living in grand surroundings in tucked away 'retreats' paid for by the Church where they're safe from prying eyes or condemnations by people.

America has always had numerous religious groups who follow their own sacred laws and lifestyles (Catholics, Jews, Baptists, Amish, Buddhists, Quakers, religious communes, etc.). Islam is the third largest religion in the whole world, yet Islamist's represent only 1% of the population in the US and according to the Pew Research Center, up to 25% of Muslims in the United States are converts. There's nearly three and a half million people in the United States that follow Islam. Compare that to the 65% majority which follows Christianity.

Your thread also makes the mistake of equating Islam to those who follow Sharia law, which not all followers of Islam do. American Muslims practice Sharia on a voluntary, private basis in a manner similar to Catholics who obey the magisterium or Jews who follow halakhah. The essential parts of Sharia are practices such as daily prayers, fasting during the month of Ramadan, marriage contracts, and rules for charity and investments. Muslims follow these practices without infringing on anyone else’s rights.

American Muslims enjoy the same benefits as other Americans, such as freedom of religion, economic opportunity, access to public schools and universities, America’s natural beauty, respect for diversity, etc., which is an additional reason for them to be loyal Americans. Accommodation for Muslim practices is no different from accommodations for other religious practices. American law treats Sharia just like any other religion’s sacred law, values, and lifestyle. And that should be the end of this discussion.

We would all do well to recall the massacre in Christchurch, New Zealand last year where 51 people were murdered and 49 injured inside a Mosque praying. This is what results from hate-mongering websites such as the one you have linked.

By bigots like you learning something.

Want to satisfy Muslims in the US? Force everyone to bump their heads on the ground while facing Mecca 5 times a day. And women need to quit flaunting their sexuality.

Why dont you invite me to your home so I can have a pig roast, get drunk and shoot up heroin with some Gay guys and tell lies about you until your familiy and friends begin to love me and curse you until we can take over control of your household?

THEN I will call you a bigot for having the audacity to speak out against my actions.

Islam is inherently expansionist.

If it wasnt, we wouldn't mind having some Muslims come here.

But we know that everywhere a sizable number of Muslims establish a large enough numerical presence, they try to defeat the existing government by permeating the culture with Islamocentric influences until they can change the native's way of life.

Eventually the UK will become an Islamic state.

It might take centuries, but as things usually go slowly and slowly and then very quickly, right now things are quickening in the UK Islamic campaign and in time they will succumb.

I dont, but at your urging, I will.

Thanks.

In 1991, Mohamed Akram, a US-based chieftain of the Brotherhood, penned a memo for the eyes of the central leadership in Egypt. Later seized by the FBI, this self-described “Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America” outlined the game-plan for what the organization regards as its “civilizational” war against the West:

Government Exhibit 003-0085 3:04-CR-240-G in U.S. v Holy Land Foundation, et al.

In August of 2004, an alert Maryland Transportation Authority Police officer observed a woman wearing traditional Islamic garb videotaping the support structures of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was Ismail Elbarasse and detained on an outstanding material witness warrant issued in Chicago in connection with fundraising for Hamas. The FBI’s Washington Field Office subsequently executed a search warrant on Elbarasse’s residence in Annandale, Virginia. In the basement of his home, a hidden sub-basement was found; it revealed over 80 banker boxes of the archives of the Muslim Brotherhood in North America. One of the most important of these documents made public to date was entered into evidence during the Holy Land Foundation trial. It amounted to the Muslim Brotherhood’s strategic plan for the United States and was entitled, “An Explanatory Memorandum: On the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America.” The Explanatory Memorandum was written in 1991 by a member of the Board of Directors for the Muslim Brotherhood in North America and senior Hamas leader named Mohammed Akram. It had been approved by the Brotherhood’s Shura Council and Organizational Conference and was meant for internal review by the Brothers’ leadership in Egypt. It was certainly not intended for public consumption, particularly in the targeted society: the United States. For these reasons, the memo constitutes a Rosetta stone for the Muslim Brotherhood, its goals, modus operandi and infrastructure in America. It is arguably the single most important vehicle for understanding a secretive organization and should, therefore, be considered required reading for policy-makers and the public, alike.

...

More about the Explanatory Memorandum (from Shariah: The Threat to America):

The following Muslim Brotherhood document was entered into evidence in the U.S. v Holy Land Foundation trial, and is a primary source threat document that provides new insights into global jihad organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood. These documents (covered extensively in chapter four) define the structure and outline of domestic jihad threat entities, associated non-governmental organizations and potential terrorist or insurgent support systems. The Memorandum also describes aspects of the global jihad’s strategic information warfare campaign and indications of its structure, reach and activities. It met evidentiary standards to be admissible as evidence in a Federal Court of law .

...

The Memorandum expressly recognizes the Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwan) as the controlling element of these organizations and expressly identifies the Muslim Brotherhood as the leadership element in implementing the strategic goals. The Memorandum is reproduced here in its official Federal Court translation, as Government Exhibit 003-0085 3:04-CR-240-G in U.S. v Holy Land Foundation, et al. with punctuation, line spacing and spelling intact.

From the Explanatory Memorandum— the Muslim Brotherhood in America in its own words:

“The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process’ with all the word means. The Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

This is a democracy, 'expansionism' doesn't relate to a democratic republic. Expansionism refers to policies implemented by governments and states, or in your claim Islam, that involve territorial expansion through economic or political coercion and military force. 'Arab Spring' was a Muslim expansionist movement under the umbrella of democracy to overthrow a military dictatorship that had lasted for three decades. Those demonstrations, uprisings, civil unrest and calls of the public in many Middle Eastern countries were an uprising against dictatorial regimes that denied the people basic economic and human rights.

Any so-called 'expansionism' by Muslims in the United States is not anything that we, as a democratic republic, will ever need to be concerned with. You're worries are baseless, and in one hundred years from now, who knows what will become of this country, we may no longer be a democracy. Instead of concerning ourselves with Muslims living in the United States, we should be thinking about the ways in which our democratic institutions, far from breaking, and far from collapsing in violence, can survive past the point where they’re being threatened.

The bold is not true. It was white europeans that expanded and took over the entire world, often brutalizing any people they came upon, and forced them to live like they did. Asian and Middle Eastern empires were just as advanced, but they had no desire to conquer the world like white europeans did.

The only people who have tried putting religion into law is conservative christians:
- Fighting gay marriage for so very long
- Squawking on about polygamy, polyamory (seriously...who cares what other people get up to?)
- Fighting abortion
- All the other claimed "family values" crap which they never follow themselves (see: evangelical love of Trump, biggest sinner ever)

So on and so forth.
