People are looking for a better life and are willing to work, bringing their skills and their families. Would it help if they stayed away? Are Americans willing to sacrifice just as much?
I guess time will tell. I don't expect illegal immigration to stop anytime soon. It is too profitable both for business and politics. We, our elected, could solve many problems, but what could we argue about, how could they pitch to the voters how superior their platforms are?

It depends allot on what Covid19 major existing strains do over the next three or more years. After they placed the HIV membrane penetration genes into the pathogen, the genetic engineers at Wuhan/Ft Detrick, attempted to stabilize the bug by adding snippets which cause suicide in mutations, BUT!, it is still and RNA virus, and very prone to mutation.

If it mutates into a nation killing, something like SARs bug, with a true 20%+ lethality rate, or mutates into a variant which has lethality for just children... or for women... or people with dark skin... or people with blue eyes... or people with a genetic predisposition diabetes...

Did the engineers mess somehow with lethality for people with a strong or weak selfish gene? Do we have that level of technology yet?

Not all social safety nets are created equal. If it can be abused it should be corrected. But that doesn't mean that a social safety net is by default a bad thing. Some poorly thought out public programs don't work. Some can and do work.

I think they misunderstand the voting potential of most Hispanic families. Many, including my wife, are catholic and deeply conservative by culture.

Culturally, many Hispanics also have a great deal of respect, honor and affection for their elderly. They often see the urge among lefties to kill off the older white people as disgusting.

Many illegals came here with the idea of owning a suburban home, a gasoline car and having affordable electricity for air-conditioning.

And many will fall-in-love with, and racial-intermarry, with Whites, and if there is one thing the Democratic Party hates above all others, it is Whites.

The Democratic Party is based fundamentally on selling hatred and division. Historically, there have been other political parties which have also done that gig. None of them stayed popular for more than generation. Evil, hate-filled, selfish, violent people don't bear and raise citizens.

What ever good was derived by previous waves of immigration to America, it is a bad Assumption that all future immigrants will provide the same benefits, growth and prosperity... because NOT all immigrants from various eras and foreign lands, are equal. As the policies of the Democratic Party, Soros and Left continue to make America worse and worse, at some point, those people in foreign nations who might have been immigrants in the past, will find that continuing to strive to make their nation of origin better, is a path of less risk and greater profit than illegally, or legally immigrating to America!

Eventually, only desperate, unskilled, uneducated, lazy, significantly ill, disabled, or criminal elements will find the options in America better than staying put in their nation of origin. So, the mix of who we get will get worse and worse, as conditions in all of America, begin to look like Detroit!

And yet, none of what I described was based on RACE at all. The lefties make everything about race, when it rarely is about race. It is so predictable, it is BORING!

And it was more about the changes in America, which will attract different groups of people from the same unspecified foreign nations.
