More than a foot of rain in some places flooded low-lying areas across the Houston region on Monday, forcing officials to suspend bus and rail service, close schools and government offices and urge residents to stay home amid what authorities said were extremely dangerous conditions.
I'm OK. Am trapped inside my home, unable to leave due to the high water, but I am not flooded, and didn't lose power. Other parts of Houston are not so lucky. As of this time, a couple of places in the area got 20 inches of rain, and hundreds, maybe thousands of people have lost everything they own. Flooding here is as bad as Tropical Storm Alison was. Looks like the worst has finally passed..... we hope. Watching the weather reports and crossing our fingers.
