House to vote on impeachment inquiry procedures - CNNPolitics
(CNN)The House will vote this week on affirming the Democrats'*impeachment inquiry*into President Donald Trump and Ukraine, as Democrats move forward with a formal vote after initially resisting.

The Thursday vote will push back against a White House and Republican congressional talking point that the impeachment inquiry is not legitimate because it hasn't been formally authorized, which comes as Democrats are facing off for the first time with a witness defying a subpoena as part of the inquiry.
That thing that conservatives said Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff would never do appears to be happening on Thursday. Expect much ranting and raving from our dear Orange leader. Convenient though since reports are Trump is demanding Republicans defend him on substance rather than procedure. I look forward to hearing what they come up with.

Nancy caved...yeah

a step that comes after pressure from Republicans to hold a vote

The Thursday vote will be the first time the House goes on the record to vote on the impeachment inquiry, potentially putting Democrats from Republican-leaning districts in a difficult position politically.

good to see a vote

i would have advised against it solely on the grounds of not letting the cultists direct the narrative. of course, i would have also advised against impeachment at all, as it is next to impossible, and Pence is the prize in the unlikely scenario in which the Senate convicts.

Finally, thank god. Sure she was only holding up the vote to protect moderate Democrats from having to go on record but that isn't going to hurt Democrats like she feared and if anything it was helping Trump. Now Republicans will have to defend him on substance, a proposition they might find difficult during damning public hearings from career officials in the intelligence community and DOJ.

So all they're doing is voting to formally start proceedings.

I expect it'll take awhile before they reach conclusions and propose articles of impeachment or whatever.

So what will Trump and his Republican apologists have to complain about next week?

This only one minor procedural step towards the House settling on articles of impecahment.

Aren't you curious then why so many Republicans have thus far refrained from debating the substance and have instead, focused on procedure?

Probably because the substance says Trump is guilty as sin and they know it.

Here's the narrative: Trump kills leader of ISIS. Democrats vote to being impeachment investigation.

The Squad were right Nancy needed to be put out to pasture last term. Her teaming up with Schiff in the DS coup attempt should leave no doubt. Schiff really?

Hopefully this isn't as partisan as it sounds... simply voting on what they are already doing. The Democrats coyld earn some credibility by adopting the procedures that have been in use for the past 50 years and which had bipartisan support.

Arsonists gotta arson.

Great news! Looking forward to having the votes all on record.

Guilty of what crime?

Violating the federal law on soliciting something of value from a foreigner to use in a political campaign - for starters.

No, all we have to do is look at our portfolios and the employment rates, and we see the substance of his administration.
