WASHINGTON (AP) — The Jan. 6 committee’s remarkable decision to subpoena House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and other congressional Republicans over the insurrection at the Capitol is as rare as the deadly riot itself, deepening the acrimony and distrust among lawmakers and raising questions about what comes next.

The outcome is certain to reverberate beyond the immediate investigation of Donald Trump’s unfounded efforts to overturn Joe Biden’s presidential election victory. Fuming Republicans vow to use the same tools, weaponizing congressional subpoena powers if they wrest control of the House in November’s midterm elections to go after Democrats, even at the highest levels in Congress.

LOL, they were gonna do that anyway.

That is going to be a big part of the 'republican' platform as the midterm gets closer, revenge, for all of their unfounded claims about the dems. They're still pissed we stopped them from stopping the steal. How did the gop become so filled with hatred for others?

They don't have a platform, so this is all they have.

It really is devolving into a political cult.

There used to be a certain amount of respect shown between House members regardless their party, but that has been abandoned by the House Dems. They are so desperate to create a narrative to use this election year that they'll do anything, give up any semblance of honor or tradition. The House Dems are so politically corrupt, they'll even use Congressional power and taxpayer money for their own political purposes.

Someone wake AG Garland up, when they don’t comply & the J6 committee refers the to DOJ for contempt.
Does anyone think they’ll show up & submit to an interview, like HRC did?

Uh huh.

You think we all magically forgot years and years of Clinton hunting?

Cry me a river.

When did any "Clinton hunters" in Congress subpoena their fellow Congressmen? I don't remember that happening.

So, you're saying it was disrespectful of the Dems to ask those members of Congress to voluntarily meet with the committee, but it was not disrespectful for those members to tell the committee to go pound sand?

When it became clear from the testimony and documents and texts that congressmen were in communication with the WH before and during the insurrection, it would have been dereliction for them not to hear from those congressmen. And since they have refused to testify voluntarily, there was no other choice but to subpoena them.

"Hang Mike Pence."

Remember when Hillary actually showed up to testify and did over 8 hours and answered every question and kicked ass?

How come none of the republicans have the stones to actually do that?

Maybe....because they are guilty as hell and they are cowardly pieces of shit?

1. There was no insurrection. Just because the dog and pony show makes that claim the basis of their desired narrative that doesn't make it a fact.

2. No. It was NOT disrespectful of those members to tell the dog and pony show to go pound sand. Congressional member have no duty to help their congressional opponents with their narratives.

3. There is nothing nefarious about congressmen being in communication with the WH. It happens all the time. Hell, I suspect there are congressmen in communications with the Biden WH in connection to Hunter Biden's mess.

"Hang Mike Pence."
1. Pence hasn't been a Congressman for a long time.

2. Which Congressmen said that about him?

Do you get my point? If not, I'll spell it out for you: Irrelevant deflection.

You are dismissed.

:ROFLMAO:

Because Congressmen VOLUNTARILY testified.. They had nothing to hide unlike the shitbags just served a subpoena...
When have Congressmen been asked to "VOLUNTARILY" testify to a Congressional dog and pony show? And why SHOULD they testify to a dog and pony show? Congressmen have no duty to aid their political opposition's efforts to create a narrative.

And this will result in the democrats telling the GQP to screw off if they take the house and issue subpoenas... Works both ways..

Sure. What goes around comes around.

I don't approve of the GOP using their Congressional powers for corrupt political purposes, either.
