here are the special rules
47% paying no federal income taxes but they can vote for those who want to jack up the rates on the top 2% who pay more and more and more
that is really unfair
its sure better for freedom than the progressive income tax
Actually, I'm pretty well read on the Constitution. I suspect that you and I would disagree about what is Constitutional and what isn't. So, I'm asking you to be specific and list some spending things that are not Constitutional rather than make a meaningless, generalization.
I make a lot more than most. I have an over active "Play fair" bone. I have a great deal of respect for the top 1%. Its when special rules give a few the benefit is when I get upset.
Yeah, I tried to find details on the study. What I could not find was if that included:
Disabled vets
House wives
my 19yo who made 6k last summer
My retired parents
ect ect
Doubt those total 47% of the people who don't pay any Federal Income taxes.
Without the study how do you know.
How about that "play fair" bone for the 47% that earn income but don't pay any Federal Income tax? Raising the tax on the top 2% doesn't make any sense as it serves no purpose and won't make a difference in the deficit and sends the wrong message to all income earners.
If that is in fact the case I would agree with you. My goal was to not raise taxes on anyone. Unfortunatly the only income for the Federal Government currently is to taxes. If you need more there are very few options. My bet (NOT DESIRE) is that taxes will go up. By the way, that includes me since I am in the top bracket.

the libs constantly whine about the rich not paying enough for "what they use" but are totally silent for the obvious class of those who clearly don't pay for what they use. The rich of course pay far far far more than what they use in order to somewhat counterbalance the net tax consumers (which are far more than that 47% because many taxpayers who do pay FIT still use more in benefits than they pay)

There is absolutely nothing that prevents you from sending more to the Federal Govt. as they take donations. Wonder how many rich liberals who have no problem telling others what they should pay are doing that?
you are deluded then if you think the dems will actually cut spending. that is the only way dems win elections. for them to cut spending to actually reduce the deficit they would lose their ability to buy the votes that give them power. so jacking up taxes on the rich won't overcome to massive increases in spending the dems scheme to do.
best to starve the beast rather than making us pour sand down a never ending rathole
They get enough thank you.

Obviously not if you support letting the tax cuts expire.
Obama Administration claims that letting the tax cuts expire for the rich will impact the budget by 700 billion but what they don't emphasize is that amount is over 10 years or 70 billion a year, a drop in the bucket in the 1.3 trillion 2010 deficit. There is no guarantee that money will even get to the govt. or if it does get that it will reduce the deficit by 70 billion. As you aptly stated, Democrats need the money to buy votes.
Yep, quite interesting the passion that libs have for raising the taxes on the rich and no passion for getting anything out of th 47% that don't pay anything in income taxes. Amazing that they don't see how stupid that argument is.
Im a realist. It has nothing to do with what I want. Its what is most likely going to happen.
Dont go blaming the Dems. Republicans do it too. President Bush raised the deficit by 4-5 trillion.
you sure spend alot of time trying to justify tax hikes which is far different than saying they might happen but they are bad
President Bush had a lot of help, most of that debt was created from 2007-2008 with a Democrat Congress. TARP was part of that debt but most of TARP has been paid back so where did the money go? 9/11 acccording to GAO cost a trillion dollars.
Obama and the Democrat Congress has added 3 trillion in two years.
because so many people keep saying "people are bad if they raise taxes" without realizing that today we have no other option to raise income. Wait until people realize that the new house plans to take away entitlements. You think people hate taxes going up wait until it takes money away from SS and medicare/medicade. Wonder how many would have gotten elected if they told people HOW they were going to balance the budget without raising taxes.
