Seem to be some confusion on this not only here but nationally so here the breaking news to correct the misinformed and misinformation.

Some though the utah marriages were magically null and voided and that they were currently worthless and meaningless as you can see above this is factually false.
Whether more marriages can be done will be left to trail but currently all those marriages are legal and get FEDERALLY recognized and the state will also be recognizing them for any FEDERAL needs.

I would love to know why the Feds believe they can just do whatever they want..... It's keen to the authoritarian policies of the former USSR (who I believe Holder, Obama, Reid and Pelosi absolutely adore)...

Holder belongs in prison on charges of tyranny.

No they SELECTIVELY FOLLOWED THE LAW...

When the law puts a damper on their plight they circumvent the law, but when it works in their favor they champion themselves as founding fathers....

also this is breaking news, please see the OP and date of articles, the other thread had its own breaking news link and story that was about UTAH on the 8th, this is about the FED on the 10 straightening people out to the facts they were confused on.

Do you have any facts to offer on this topic?
 
Holder also agreed it is legal for Utah to not recognize gay marriages.
 
Well, too bad, last I checked Marriage licenses aren't handed out at the Federal level, but the State..As such you can't recognize that which isn't issued.

yes the state doesnt have to grant or do any state recognition during the stay, yes SCOTUS made that so.

but the state DOES have to recognize any FEDERAL issues it may deal with

1.) I weird i dont see anywhere that said the fed handed out marriage license? oh thats right nobody did just a meaningless point
2.) links and facts prove you wrong cause they were issued and are being FEDERALLY recognized as the FED and STATE said.

no its not a fact because he didn't do this
he followed the law if you read the article and understand what is factually going on

he didnt overrule anything he just cleared up peoples confusion and let them know the facts.

the COURTS will still decided if Utah will be granting future marriages :shrug:
 
Maybe this will be the beginning of federal recognition no matter the state law.


Edit: to elaborate the federal government can make some kind of federally recognized union/marriage license/certificate/whatever that it will recognize no matter the state law.

Great, now if only we could get Obama and Holder to recognize our immigration laws and uphold them, we'd be in good shape. All political, and has nothing to do with the merits, BUT I suspect you have no clue what I'm talking about?

sorry this thread is about The Fed and marriages in Utah
if youd like to make your own thread about another issues its pretty easy

and just for a side note, ILLEGAL immigrants are illegals, hence criminals, hence breaking the law and unless operating under the law and legally they should be immediately deported. but again that has nothing to do with this topic.
