Hey everyone! I'm Maemi you can just call me Mae (May). I'm 18, and I'm going to college in Oregon. I hope to get a double major in Marine Biology and Political Sciences (maybe). I grew up in a suburb of Chicago, in the middle of a bible belt so everyones pretty surprised i came out of high school totally liberal!

I just really hope to get in some good debates and learn alot of new things!

Where your roots are from are not necessarily what you become....That is strictly your choice.

My father was a 30-year fireman, yet I became a Conservative, living with a project right behind my house, in one of the bluest cities in the country(Philly).

The fact that you became a Liberal in a Conservative environment tells this forum that you are thinking as an individual, and not towing the community line...That is commendable...

Of course, I'll be fighting you tooth-and-nail on every issue...

To be honest, no freakin idea! Travel and teach most likely. i'm kinda a fly by the seat of my pants kinda gal. I think it would amazing to get a job at NOAA, maybe work my way up to an advisory position. It does seem now adays that the environment and politics are getting closer and closer...
