He followed all the rules and protocols and went by the book. And they still arrested him.

"Jesus Teran FLED PERSECUTION in Venezuela, seeking asylum in the United States in 2021 and joining his family in Imperial, Pennsylvania, half an hour outside Pittsburgh. He was living a version of the American Dream. Beloved by his community, he gave food to the needy, and when they created a communal garden to forge ties between a mostly white church and his more Latino one, Jesus was there, tilling the ground, repairing a faulty tiller, and watering the plants twice a week, according to the Observer-Reporter, a local paper.

...

Jesus’s detention resembles thousands of other stories that are quickly defining American society in the age of Trump deportations. It has shaken his church community and inspired local leaders, union representatives, and Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh retired Bishop David Zubik to write more than twenty letters on his behalf."

The actual Jesus: “Render unto Caesar…”

Jesus was talking about taxes, not people.

Jesus NEVER said "Render unto Caesar whomever he'd like to get rid of."

He said to render unto God what is God's. He included in his lessons that we must love one another, not reject one another, not even an enemy, come to that. Righteous and correct acts pleasing to God must remain, according to Jesus.

Yet another illegal getting what he deserves. Even better is the oft-repeated libtard reaction.

It's a two-fer!

Jesus was not just talking about taxes. You must defer to the Caesar’s laws and the Caesar’s justice even unto death. He was very clear that he was not calling for a political revolution.

LOL, the heading in that section of Matthew 22 is "Paying the Imperial Tax to Caesar"

It was obviously about taxes.

OMG! What if that was the Second Coming? What if Trump is the biblical antichrist?!

Didn't take long for the anticipated reactions by those so full of intolerance and small-mindedness that they didn't even bother reading how this individual was contributing to the community before they reacted with their usual tripe.

Hmmm, maybe THAT is the point. They read about an illegal who is doing more for their community than those who sit in their basements contributing nothing to society while making mocking comments about illegals who are contributing to society.

Yeah but why would @verrip1 care? The extent of his investment into this topic is calling people libtards. No other contributed is expected or even possible.
There are people like that out there. They have little to say that sounds sane or lucid. And they are bitter. Whatchagonnado? Pass 'em by would be my recommendation.

Yeah, ignoring them is about all we can do. After all, is there truly any value to be derived from engagement with a poster if the best we can expect from their posts is "libtard" or "mad lib" or "librul" ? I think not.

What do you mean by "illegal"?

Are others allowed to break the law as long as they are "contributing to the community"?

Yeah, I don't remember any passages where Jesus commends his followers to stomp on the downtrodden or, "**** 'em, 'cause they're not like us". Seems like an especially glaring misreading of the New Testament.

Well, in all fairness, many of these people cannot actually read more than a headline.

Except, what they do when no one is minding them can be dangerous.

Did someone claim that Jesus did say those things?

Missed the point I was making. NOT sure if it was even deliberate considering your lack of sagacity.

Be careful, THAT lot might not realize you are mocking them and believe what you say
