Hillary Clinton snubbed Bernie to having a debate in the days leading up to California Primary (the largest by far in the country). Her main reason being that she has locked up the Democratic nomination and that a debate with Bernie is pointless.

Here's the two main reasons I feel its still worth supporting Bernie Sanders:

Bernie has won 11 of the past 14 primaries and has won a majority of the delegates over the past couple of months.

Bernie continues to poll better in a general election against Trump by a long-shot. He is still beating Trump by double digits in almost every major national poll. On the other hand Hillary is tied with, or losing to Trump in almost every major national poll.

I feel that if Hillary is the candidate she will lose the Democratic nomination.

I really do not like Clinton or her hubbie and never have, but she is right. Why waste time on BS.

No good can come to Hillary from debating Bernie.

This was my first thought. But then, I wonder if her refusal will hurt her numbers and she will then agree to it, because of her numbers, again.

Bernie's numbers are an illusion. His baggage (of which there is plenty) has been untouched; that wouldn't be the case if he somehow made it to the general election. Trump and the RNC would be running the clips of him praising breadlines before he even gave his acceptance speech. The Dukakis'ing would be swift and brutal if he came anywhere close to the nomination.

But he hasn't and won't, and a debate at this point would be a waste of time.

This is really it, a.debate can only hurt her. And with the DNC in the bag for Hillary since before the primaries started, there will be no big push for more debates.

This is probably true, at this point all a debate can accomplish is further dividing the party at a time when Trump has momentum within his party. It sucks for Sanders but Democrat establishment power has made their decision. Either left leaning supports gather behind Hillary, find a 3rd party, or stay home on election day.

I would counter by noting that Hillary is currently winning in the polling versus Sanders in both New Jersey and, more importantly, in California. The RCP average in California is currently 9.5. From Hillary's perspective, why would she want to debate someone before the vote in a State where she is currently dominating? It only lends credence to the argument that Bernie is still a credible threat - which would be odd this late in the primary season.

The big target state is California, "Land of Fruits and Nuts". Bernie may or may not win, but Hillary is not all that popular outside California's DNC dominated news media. Reading them, you'd think she is a nun. IMO, the Bern can make a big enough impact to wipe that smile off her face even if she wins.

However, California is a closed primary, IOW, I as an independent cannot vote in either, but the independents are 24% of the electorate. But there is a secret:

Warning: Top Secret, not to be divulged to "declined to state" (aka independent) voters! The truth is, I can vote for Bernie by requesting a democrat ballot at the polling place! This is one of the best kept secrets since the Manhattan project! This information is not getting the publicity it deserves.

Why waste time on BS.

Why? Because if she really wants to be President, she better know that she will be under much more scrutiny than even now, and that she will have to answer some tough questions eventually. If she is scared of old man Sanders, perhaps she should try ironing or grandparenting.
The selfish bitch feels entitled to the crown, and I wish and pray that she will eventually put in her place.

She's won, she will be the democrat's nominee. Absolutely no reason for her to debate Bernie at this point.

Hillary generates all the excitement of free overdue book return day at the library. Her speeches are c-a-n-n-e-d.

Following are all the sentences, phrases and words that anyone would need to script Hillary's debate statements and responses:

Look, when my husband and I were in the White House...

I have a comprehensive plan that...

I will not let you attack President Obama (she deflects to/defends Obama when in the debate she is unable to defend herself)...

When I was a Senator from New York I supported...

grandmothers and babies...

I've spend my entire career working on/for...

Bill and I worked hard...

I worked night and day...

I'm sorry but President Obama is wrong in (attacks Obama to avoid guilt by association)...

No one is more _____ than I have been...

My record is very clear...

I take a backseat to no one...

I have a good friend (usually this "good friend" is never named) and we were chatting the other day about...

I have (another) comprehensive plan that will...

I...

I...

I (I, me, mine)

*Also, if Hillary is talking to (contrary to what she'd like for you to believe she never talks with) anyone from the South or any blue collar person outside the South Hillary goes into her insulting corn pone accent, it's gawdawful. It should be noted that when Hillary is in Brooklyn or Boston or Maine, for example, she never attempts to use local accents; only when she is addressing Southerners, blue collar people - and African Americans.

To this day I cannot understand how any black person can listen to Hillary when Hillary is pandering to black people. When Hillary talks to black people she channels Stepin Fechit only worse. Hillary can't even do wrong right. She sounds as if she is trying to talk with a mouthful of hot marbles.

California is a huge and very important state. California is diverse. California is a tough state for Hillary address publicly. If Hill were to take a question from a blue collar worker from San Mateo she'd go straight into her corn pone dialect and likely alienate everyone including the blue collar worker. Maybe Hillary wants to avoid the debate in California because she doesn't feel that her faux Asian accent is up to par.

Bottomline: Hillary does not relate to people and for the most part people don't relate to Hillary. She doesn't fare particularly well against Bernie in debates. Bernie has the momentum. Hillary's camp has decided it best to keep her in the closet...ahem.

A debate would be to the people's benefit. Well, **** them, right Hill? The only people Hillary really wanted to engage were people worthy of her time, celebrities with money. She's done that. Why spend the time and effort to canned speech Bernie? It would only help him and hurt her.

Yep. I'm probably gonna vote for Jill Stein. But I'm also still considering voting for Gary Johnson.

I've already ruled out voting for Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

That was my take on the question.

There is no question that she is horrible. But that doesn't mean she would want to waste time on a pointless BS debate. If he wants to cede the nomination in the studio, she would probably play ball. But why fight about socialism. The topic is old hat, worn out and won't bring her a single vote.

It's starting to become a trend among Clinton and her most zealous supporters that Bernie Sanders is a bigger threat than Donald Trump and his...

...I wonder why that is?

Mayhap the reason she should have done the debate has nothing to do with Senator Sanders. The debate was to take place on Fox News. That would have given her access to a massive audience none of the other channels could achieve. If she expects to beat Trump, she will need to appeal to voters other than those on the left. I see it as a lost opportunity that has nothing to do with Sanders.

Sanders should've gone "Trump" early. it's a sign of incompetence that Donald Trump started calling HRC "Crooked Hillary" before Sanders did.

He should've ended every speech asking HRC to release the emails, asking what her how her husband enjoyed flying on the Lolita express etc.
He didn't understand that primaries are when you are supposed to get nasty, had he done that he'd have locked down the nomination. but he didn't. and now he's not going to win, he would have to win practically 90% of every vote left to be counted, and it ain't happening.

Because the only reason she's polling so high has been due to the DNCs partisan antics to crown Hillary the winner over all. Had they not been interfering too hard, I think you'd see a much different outcome.

She has nothing to gain from it and unlike last time in New York, he can't shame her into it. Lastly he didn't perform that well during the New York debate anyway. Being unprepared for some of the hard hitting questions and missing the chance to attack her properly on the Panama Papers.
