Hillary Clinton clinches Democratic presidential nomination

A distinction with very little difference.

True. They believe in all the same things as everyday socialists, but instead of being ballsy like socialists of the pasts they're ******s that have to take baby steps.

That Sanders gave up his values and his common sense to support someone that probably cheated to win against him.

Danarhea has a great sense of humor but that example was way too subtle.
Too subtle for pithy, even.

He's hardly classy. He's a whipped sellout who hates the right wing more than he loves his values or "revolution." That's my take on him.

What do you think he should have done that would be classy?

Hating the right wing is a cherished value.

Its funny to read the vitriol from right wingers here angry that the Dems are uniting to stop Trump from possibly raping the American people.

IMO, Trump will at least give Uncle Sam a reach around when he rapes the country. Hillary will rape, pillage, plunder, and steal (Like she did items her last stay in the WH) then demand Uncle Sam contribute to her slush foundation.

If she winns we may see a 1930's ball park vendor in the Rose Garden barking

"Pardons for sale. Get your fresh Pardon right here, no crime too brutal. Buy 3 pardons at full foundation donation price, and get a free low level national security secret to sell to any foreign government you choose. Pardons for sale."

It's official. Hillary Clinton is the official nominee, but the big story for me is Bernie Sanders standing up and releasing all his delegates and asking them to vote for his opponent.

Whatever you think of Bernie Sanders, he is a classy guy.

Article is here.

Yeah, I don't like his politics, but he seems to have something in short supply of late: integrity.

Hate shouldn't be a cherished value, isn't that what the Dems accuse their opponents of all the time as a negative thing?

Bernie legitimately got cheated by the DNC, emails showing corruption have been leaked, the leader of the party resigned due to scandals and was re-hired by Hillary Clinton, and it's basic knowledge that Hillary got away with lying regarding her email server among many more scandals. Sandars is endorsing and trying to "unify" around blatant corruption. No man of good moral character or standing should knowingly endorse or support a wicked, corrupt individual simply because "they're not the other guy." He sold out on his values and is throwing support behind a wicked, corrupt politician in order to try and ensure and ideological rival doesn't get top spot. From the lesser of two evils standpoint I'd argue Hillary would be the one "raping" the American people with her known lying, corruption, and policies.

It was a lose/lose situation for the DNC.

07/26/16 09:57 AM EDT
"Why would I do that? There's an election,” Sanders explained. “We're going to lose, but if you were campaigning for me for six months and I asked who you're going to vote for, you'd say, 'I'm going to vote for Bernie Sanders.'"
Sanders: My delegates should 'vote for me' - POLITICO

Seeing how the email thing broke out I think the chickens have come home to roost, gone full circle, karma an ****. There are a lot of people that worked hard only to find out their party lied to them and screwed them over. I would be pissed too. Emails again, always emails. Emails matter. The Democrats still don't get it that emails matter. Now the DNC is fully committed to Clinton with more emails incoming and only two days into the convention. The possibilities are YUGE. I can't wait to see what happens next. This is gonna leave a mark. I wonder if Clinton will get a post convention bump. Probably not.

Its spineless to rail against a system that you end up endorsing after taking millions of dollars from working class people.

You just the described the American political system.

Yea the political system that Bernie said was corrupt and needed to be stopped. The one he just endorsed.

Bernie is just aware that this election is too important to hand over to Trump. Jesus Christ people. He lost. Should he keep fighting and reduce Hillary's chance of winning, thereby increasing Trump's chance of winning? Who the **** wants that?

They're uniting behind someone that got away with breaking the law.

I see no record of that. Can you produce the verifiable evidence of that to verify your claim?

Fighting hate with all your being is indeed a cherished value and the right wing has been swimming hate for a very long time in this country.

Sanders is holding to his values - to get the most progressive President possible who will do the most good for the American people. And he firmly believes that is Clinton over Trump. Like he said about Kaine - on their worst day they are 100 times better than Trump.

So he very much is holding to his values. You just don't want to admit those values.

You fight hate with any weapon or force at your disposal,

You want evidence of right wing hate? Read up on the history of lynchings in this nation. Then Jim Crow. Then Segregation. Then attacks on gay people. Then anti-immigrant rants and policies. Its not exactly a secret.

Regardless of whether or you you feel he's spineless or classy, it's clear Sanders wants the Democratic Party unified behind Clinton, even if it just to make sure Trump never sets foot in the White House as President. That's what the Democrats need if they want to win.

Unified behind Clinton? As you say, just enough to make sure Trump never sees the Oval Office. But unified around Clinton and believing her to be their leader? She and the DNC pissed that away when they did what they did and got caught. Hillary has earned her boos, and she should take it like a grown woman. That future where people, in unison, adore her is gone --it died a salacious death.

The question Hillary supporters --I don't know which side of the aisle you're on-- need to be asking themselves (or rather, what Hillary Clinton needs to be asking herself) is what she can do to get Sanders supporters to stifle their vomit and go vote for her. She's not stupid, she has the answer to that question in the form of a human Cheeto. But DNC looked at their own party, saw a weal spot, and instead of helping rebuild the foundation, they took a sledge hammer over, and over, and over to the party. And now the wedge has driven the party in two, and they have no one to blame but themselves.

So yes, Sanders supporters should boo and Clinton should take it, if nothing else than because she helped make this mess. Then Clinton and the DNC need to figure out how they're going to work hard at either repairing their party, because at the rate she's going, Hillary will never see a second term --and that's assuming she sees a first term.

I loath Ted Cruz with every bone in my body, but I do respect what he did at the convention. It created an appearance of integrity. That's what Bernie should have done. Not an angry rant, not a call to violence, but a stand on principle and a denunciation of abject corruption. He had more reason to do that than Cruz had. Bernie's entire draw was his integrity, and he severely damaged that image among the large number of people who expected him to speak truth to power, not to make a calculated political capitulation to those who wronged him.

He's choosing the devil he knows. What does that say about the devil we don't know?

so he basically tells everyone to vote for someone he trashed and accused of the whole election process of cheating him.
hmmm no one ever said that liberals were consistent. well they are at being inconsistent.

most would call it hypocrisy.

Honestly, I had respect for the guy, even though I didn't agree with him.
He seemed to be honest, sincere and held integrity.

Now, it seems that he was just controlled opposition.
The slap in the face that he took and rolled over and took again.
I just can't respect a man, who dishonors himself and leaves his supporters in the dust.

Honestly I think that sums it up pretty well.

You cant be ignorant enough to believe that only the right wing was involved in lynchings, segregation, Jim Crow etc. Then again perhaps you are.

More like he's a spineless guy.

Yes, oh the cowardliness of losing the Democratic Primary by nearly 4 million votes and then the nerve of admitting you lost and its in the best interest of your supporters to support the candidate in the race whose views are closest to yours....
