House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has dismissed the influence of congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on her party, describing the socialist wing of Democrats in the House of Representatives as “like, five people”.
Ms Pelosi has previously rejected the rising star’s policy proposals – including the Green New Deal plan to tackle climate change and the expansion of Medicare for all Americans.
In a new interview, the speaker of the House insisted there was only a very small group of left-wing Democrats who subscribed to Ms Ocasio-Cortez’s ideas.
Asked by 60 Minutes interviewer Lesley Stahl about “AOC and her group”, Ms Pelosi replied: “That’s, like, five people.”

Well in truth, this is another instance of dimwitted, dumb as dirt MSM numbskulls simply not being capable of constructing a meaningful question. Pelosi was asked about AOC's "progressive wing" of the party. Pelosi is a Progressive. So the question should have been constructed around AOC and the Far Left wing of the party. MSM is just lost. Children in the main that have no earthly idea regarding the actual subject matter.

Pelosi, Hoyer and the rest of the currently in place Democratic leadership is in a serious arm wrestling contest with AOC and the extremist radical and ignorant 'fresh new faces' over the soul and future of the Democratic party. I'm still waiting for the 'Master legislator' moves from Pelosi, but I'm not holding my breath.

The further left AOC and her ilk drive the Democratic party, the further from the majority of the US electorate they'll go, and ironies of ironies, it'll be self-inflicted.
