This statement is astounding. Basically: The Republican senators are "hiding" behind the constitutional rights of the 2nd Amendment, that they swore an oath to uphold, preventing us from violating ours.

Most Democrats believe that we have a moral obligation to abandon our gun rights because they believe it's the right thing to do. They don't understand why we're unwilling; it literally does not make sense to them, just like their aversion to armed civilians makes no sense to us.

Nor do they seem to understand that criminals will still have guns.

she's one of the two or three most intellectually vacant turds who currently disgraces congress with her existence. This is the same moron who claimed that white truck driver Reginald Denny deserved the beating that several of her constituents participated in. Of course she hates honest people owning guns-they might end up shooting some of her biggest supporters in an effort to stop a home invasion robbery or a street assault. She's black gangbangers' representative to congress.

Well, I suppose in todays PC environment thugs have a right to representation too. Maybe they should be allowed in the military as well.

You damn right I'm hiding behind the Constitution, that's the only thing protecting us from the gun-haters. Except maybe our guns?

And that is why firearm owners will lose.

The right that allows citizens to bear arms has no value to such people and may be amended, sliced, diced and mangled as long as some people can keep their guns.

So who is protecting our rights?

You got an answer?

I get it, the old Republicans are from Mars, Democrats are from Uranus analogy.

The second speaks for itself. The oath to uphold it should also. It is more like the blind leading the dumb and the lacking will willing.
