Hegseth intends to rename USNS Harvey Milk

Liberal bigots hate mainstream society.
They are constantly working to destroy it.
When the Progressive bigots get everything that they want it becomes a dystopian nightmare.
As we can all observe mainstream people fleeing from the Blue cities and states.
The crazy Left Wingers claim to be the open minded and tolerant side, but they hate a lot of people because of their race, religion, region, and economic class.
It is a huge myth that Liberals are tolerant people.

constantly working to destroy it blah blah blah lol.
god you make the dumbest posts.

was he? do you have any evidence he was?
or are you just being a typical homophobic bigot?
I don"t fear or loath gays.
I am questioning the integrity of the story because Progressives have a credibility gap.

based on your posts, you appear to be homophobic, for example, suggesting an "other than honorable" discharge due to being gay is the same as a dishonorable discharge.
you have a credibility chasm.

Ok
Other than honorable
Minor mistake

You are the one asserting it is a waste of money. I have pointed out both why I think the action was taken, and why it is a valid one IMO.

Out of curiosity, have you served in any branch of the U.S. Military? I ask because your posts don't give the impression that you have because it's clear you have no idea about the importance of individual pride, esprit de corps, and high morale among the services.

His service was not "honorable" because he received an "OTHER than honorable discharge." Do try to pay attention. :coffee:
How do you come to that conclusion?

Has it ever occurred to you that a less than honorable discharge of Milk might be more reflective of the bigotry and institutional prejudice in our military at that time towards homosexuality than that reflective of one who embodied what they despised? Is that a possibility that you can humor?

Large based are often named after privates? Lol
Just more Republican bs. Clearly a pathetic attempt to justify honoring a traitor.

Rank is unimportant if the actions of the military member are exemplary.

Exactly. At that time, the military acted dishonorably towards gays...men and women that were willing to serve and sacrifice just the same.

Who among you have not seen Trump bleeding from his right ear, security personnel forming a human shield around him, a fist pumping in the air and a resolute look on his face? As much as I don’t like Trump, I admit he continues to inspire more people than Harvey Milk ever did.

I could picture Trump more interested in talking about MILF than MILK.

Imagine a USNS Super Trump:

In the event of a sinking ship situation, Trump has also made a point of saying he would prefer electrocution over a shark attack:

You think it was because of his actions?
Just a coincidence he had the same name? Lol

Bragg was awarded the Silver Star for events in the Battle of the Bulge on January 7, 1945, when he, lightly wounded and accompanied by First Lieutenant McClain (a forward observer from the 466th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion), drove a captured German ambulance 20 miles under enemy machine gun fire to an Allied hospital in Belgium

Third highest only
Due to the sheer number of WWII awards of the Silver Star (nearly 100,000 Army awards alone)

Clearly they desperately picked him as an excuse. His actions didn't justify naming a huge base after him

A silver star is nothing to scoff about. Which roughly only 1.3% were awarded. Some congressmen decided to politicize the naming of military bases, so more than one way to play that game.

Over 100,000 in WW2 alone
Hardly the basis to name a large base

Actually, I do not keep a desktop computer by the pool. At the moment, I am inside the house enjoying air conditioning and a hot cup of coffee.
Well now there we go.

I'm inside at my desktop with the a/c off because it's only 84 and a cup of iced coffee under my nose. The pond with its ducks the silly subdivision owners call a lake is a two minute stroll from my window in front of me. (I've always hated a desk facing a wall.)

Since Trump 2.0 all the weather forecasts have been off or flat out wrong. One inch of rain in a cloudburst electrical storm Sunday was a huge surprise here that created a tizzy. These dayze are sunny despite the forecasts saying "Rainy days ahead." each day since Sunday. So now I go by the ducks. It's getting time now to check 'em out in fact. The daily helicopter runs from the Naval Air Station have stopped completely -- they say they're outta gas over there. The guy across the street says now we can see the flying saucers clearly and undeniably.

MAGA!

But what is the whole story.
Was be hitting on straight men?
That is what gets a lot of Gays in trouble in the military.
Again, clearly you have never served and have no clue of what you’re talking about.

It was a bad decision to give a naval vessel that name. I mean Jeez, you're a sailor in the Navy and you have to tell people that that's the name of your ship? Not a good mix. I'm sure there are other government items that would be better suited to that name. Maybe a dance hall or bath house or something. That's not even considering the obvious passive aggressive aspect off it.

There are no “soldiers” in the Navy.
