His name was Giovanni Gentile, and he was on the far left and had connections to Karl Marx, who was the philosopher of Marxism. Anyways, here's a like from Wikipedia (hardly a right-wing source), and it's article on Giovanni Gentile. No wonder educators and the media are so hush-hush about this person...

Ok so what do you want to discuss about Giovanni Gentile? Adam Smith really wasn't a philosopher on capitalism. He was a commentator on commerce. At the time he wrote wealth of nations, mercantilism ruled the day and protectionism was the centerpiece of just about every country of note's economic policies.

Connections to marx???? Yet in the link you give gentile disagrees with and opposes marxs own theories of dialectics. You are pushing a connection that does not exist.

And just because you are uneducated about european history does not mean every one is.

Italian fascism was very different from nazi fascism. the only reason italy's fascism aligned with germany was because germany forced italy to make changes.

Whatever. It’s a left-wing source. You did see that it said that Gentile was “influenced by Marx” so learn to read. Considering Nazis were national socialists you don’t know what you’re talking about. You do realize that Germany and Italy (as well as Japan) were all part of the Axis Powers? The full word for Nazism meant “National SOCIALIST German WORKER’S PARTY” so PLEASE do some more research.

Yes, influenced. as in he disagreed with the main principle of social economics.
Please do not be so naive. Just because a government uses a word does not mean that they followed any of the principles behind that word. Otherwise tell me you agree that north korea is in fact a democratic republic which is what they call themselves.

It is not me that needs to do some research. It is you need to strengthen your comprehension skills.

Let me guess, you think the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC of Korea is a democratic republic don’t you?

Yes, you can disagree with some things but agree on others. And the Wikipedia article doesn’t even say anything you suggested and Wikipedia is hardly a conservative source so please quit making things up. Hitler even brought socialized medicine to Germany and took people’s guns away so please stop listening to these Marxist professors.

I don’t believe in “democratic republics”. I believe in simply “republics”. Even some conservative sources are wrong on this one. America is not a “democracy”. You won’t even find the word “democracy” in the Declaration of Independence or the US Constitution!

But the “Democratic Republic of Korea” has it right in their name. By your logic, if something is in a group’s name, then it must be true.

From your link.

Gentile, rather than believing the private to be swallowed synthetically within the public as Marx would have it in his objective dialectic, believed that public and private were a priori identified with each other in an active and subjective dialectic: one could not be subsumed fully into the other as they already are beforehand the same. In such a manner each is the other after their own fashion and from their respective, relative, and reciprocal, position. Yet both constitute the state itself and neither are free from it, nothing ever being truly free from it, the state (as in Hegel) existing as an eternal condition and not an objective, abstract collection of atomistic values and facts of the particulars about what is positively governing the people at any given time

learn to read more than just headlines.

Only a completely ignorant person would think that hitler only did bad things. Even mussolini managed to do some good.
