I've had colonoscopies every 5 years since my 40s. Sometimes they'd find a polyp, sometimes none. Today they found 10. Now they want to see me yearly & it won't be just to drum up business.

Adults of either sex should be checked at least initially. Check to see if you have any family history of polyps or colon cancer. (My brother in law, believe it or not, has cancer of his asshole). It's a family thing with my brother & I & our father..

Colon cancer is not a nice way to go.

They say that a whole foods plant based diet helps prevent and possibly reverse some of this.

My boss years go died of colon cancer, at a fairly young age. His oncologist referred to meats, especially processed meat, as 'poison'.

The recommendations to help prevent colon cancer are the usual common-sense things - eat lots of fruits and vegetables, get some exercise, avoid alcohol and don't smoke.
