Yeah, Mr. Golum, but don't you want to see where your ancestors came from (assuming you have Euro genes)? ;) See the medieval towns, bullet trains, 1000 year cathedrals and such? :)

I've ridden in a few of the old wooden peasant trains in europe. I guess they are all gone.

I agree we need to get out more. Just being objective as to why I think we don't.

That looks like Sweden with a mini-train (they don't have those, just a good bus service). Or Amsterdam.

Europe is fun!

You must of been proper 'tripping' if you thought that was Amsterdam.

No, hell I've never left the southeast, not my choice my family is boring:lol:

But I do plan on travelling, a lot. I'd love to go to Europe, just travel around, through Italy, Spain, France, the UK,

It's ok, that makes two of us.
Hoping I can plan for a German winter vacation, in the near future.

This year though, it's Tennessee.

Budapest is great, if you dont mind being in a country with a neo-nazi government.

Romania has its good sides, but the negatives are the reason why so many Romanian's leave the country. Poverty, corruption, organised crime and so on.

Had a lot of Romanian buddies, I met online.
They mentioned that the Russian mob is pretty big there.

In so much as they have their hands in a lot of legitimate businesses.
Although I have to say, of all the people I've met online, Romanians are the most jovial and friendly people thus far.
Edit: Jovial/friendly is what I mean.

UK'ers have been the most courteous/friendly.

I don't like psychadelics (we can say 'hard psychs', if you are inclined to include weed in that catagory but I don't play with shrooms); I'm kind of a control freak so hallucinating is not on my list of things to do. I was there for ~10 days, stayed at hotels and visited most of the decent cafes. Rented a bike. Was with a hot Russian chick (pic in album at left column, profile page).

That's İstiklal Caddesi in Beyoğlu! When I stay in Istanbul I stay one block back from where this photo's taken, on Şehbender Sokak. I love Istanbul in the snow.

bingo ,man!!

No but i really want to. I wanna visit Russia, France, Netherlands, Norway, Greece, and Germany.

I should also mention that the museum changed my life, the way I understand art. Staring at Wheatfield with Reaper, after perhaps 20minutes, my girlfriend said 'the sky is green', and I'll be damned, it was. I hadn't really noticed. Amazing, moving, now I understand how pantings can be worth millions. They do that, the great ones again and again.

Side note: as it turns out (I later learned), according to Gogh himself, that painting is about monoculture and its effect on society.

All you need is a reliable news source (The Economist is great, also The Week is a fantasitc magazine) and you can see the smoke clearly. That does not meann it will necessarily implode or fail. They are experiencing REAL problems and are forced to moderate. We can wait until it gets as bad here or we can self correct now. Europe has always shown us it's hand and what not to play. We are the world's greatest power thanks to the lessons of Europe. We ignore them at our own peril.

That is meant for the socialist of all stripes, left or right (national or not). Their squabbling and ethnic divisions have left them weak. Their economic missteps are now doing the same and reinvigorating the old ethinc hatreds.

Europe is like our parents. They give us some guide on what to do and what not to do. Quit being momma's boys or daddy's boys. Be your own men and learn from their mistakes. We can change the gender, it matters not.

Uber-Orc!! ;)

No, the US constitution pales in comparison only to the Kenyan.

We can change the gender, it matters not.

Actually (surprisingly enough), that's accurate. Gender is assigned by society, not the individual - it's a sociological term.

Russian mob.. well.. more like the Romani mob. But yes organised crime is a major problem.

Got to see Germany the way few tourists do a couple of times before the Wall fell. Found most young and rural Germans quite friendly. Food was great, beer was great, girls were great, field duty sucked.

Uncle Sam gave me a free trip to Italy, found the girls nice but not easy, dammitt... ;)

USO tours to Austria and Holland were nice, Paris France sucked ass and smelled amazingly like unwashed ass.

Did the Checkpoint Charlie tour, East Germany was depressing.

As a civilian now that there is one Germany I found the 'rades a bit more arrogant, but then again it was my first time in Northern Germany.

Liked the Scousers of Liverpool, good pub food, expensive restaurant food, know how to fill a proper pint. People all seemed nice and helpful, women dressed a bit odd (do they have any bras designed after 1960?) Brite pink or purple haired grannies in minishirts and go-go boots looked odd considering it was the new millennium.

No, I am all light.

This has what to do with what? You must be under the impression that I am some old crotchety fool that thinks the kids are beneath their parents. Nope, we learn from our parents mistakes. First we have to be able to see and willing to acknowledge them. Don't be a momma's/daddy's boy. I am pretty certain your parents sucked and if you are not better than them then they sucked really bad or kept you in the dark. We are still progressing and will continue to for some time.

Actually (surprisingly enough), that's accurate. Gender is assigned by society, not the individual - it's a sociological term.

Absolutely. Apparently you don't know yet that EVERY label is assigned by society. None of them are binary all are a spectrum.

Am I a libertarian? Yes, I am! Am I an independent? Yes, I am! Am I a liberal. Yes, I am! Am I a conservative? Yes, I am. Am I an atheist. Yes, I am. Am I a Christian (it's a name so...)? Yes, I am. Am I a Buddhist? Yes, I am. Am I jewish? Yes, I am. Am I a Rastafrian. Yes I and I am. Am I a Confucianist? Yes, I am. Am I a Taoist. Yes, I am

The he is always lower case.

You guys are making this too much fun for me. Be more literate less literal.

Absolutely. Apparently you don't know yet that EVERY label is assigned by society. None of them are binary all are a spectrum.

Actually, male/female and black/white are not assigned by society (perhaps with rare exceptions, see: M. Jackson), and male/female is not subject to much variation. But ask someone who thinks sexuality is a choice about gender control.

Nope. Check out the Samoans thoughts on gender. It is all a spectrum. You are fooled by the shadows. Plato.

Or a 'sociologically-disinclined' person about "reverse racism".
