In the earlier to mid twentieth century, America was introduced to "the man"; a sinister big brother figure that seeked to control your daily life. The man didn't want to desegregate, was fearful of a communist takeover, and didn't want social liberties to be exercised.
Welcome to the new man, Amercia. Now, our media is so biased that the truth is hidden beneath partisan, liberal agenda. The immigration law in AZ is supported by a majority of citizens, yet portrayed to be a "white supremecist" action (according to CA Democrat and congresswoman Linda Sanchez). An overwhelming number of high ranking staff in the White House admit publicly to never reading the law. I have read the law, and the media and even our president have NO IDEA what they are talking about. The slander occuring in our country is a travesty. The only time a person willbe asked for ID is if they are involved in a seperate offense, why shouldn't they show ID? People are getting murdered, drugs are flowing, and our country is being exploited by illegals.
Unpopular, socialist legislation like Obamacare is approved with more Americans against it than for it. Anyone who speaks out against the new socialist machine in Washington is viewed as radical and racist. The Man is back, and once again, he wants nothing more than to rob you of the freedoms that make you an American.

The virtues of hard work, morals, and ethics have erroded in our country. We are on a sad course to socialism that will surely see the American flame that makes us unique extinguished. We are so politically correct now that the current administration refuses to call terrorists Islamic Extremists. It is fine to call Tea Party members and any conservative a racist, hateful person. However, don't they dare so the same words back. The real reason we want Obamacare and illegals to continue in our country is many are lazy. They want free handouts, want to tax those who work hard, and want to go on abusing a way of life we created for those who want to succeed. Many families with illegal relatives in the states want them to stay, thats why they oppose the bill. We are lazy, and abuse a faulty system. I believe there are a lot of hard working immigrants here; I lived in Arizona for nearly ten years. However, they should come here legally. You CAN NOT immigrate to Mexico unless you make a substantial amount of money, and their president has the right to come here and condemn us? And then the liberals give him a standing ovation...

Goodbye hard work, goodbye American dream, the lazy and the socialists keep piling more dirt into your premature grave

Conservative hyperbolic nonsense at its best. THE LIBERALS want to DESTROY YOU. THEY HATE FREEDOM. RARRRRR.

This message board has a conspiracy theory forum, maybe you'd be more at home there.

maybe you would be more at home at a coffee shop with CodePink in Berkley. Since you can only refute what I say by a default traditional dismissal, you have no point at all.
Taken from Websters:

i guess you were absent the day they taught the difference between socialism and capitalism in class... or maybe you where to busy smoking weed in the parking lot.

Congrats, you can take definitions from Websters. Now explain how the current administration is Socialist using THAT definition you just posted.

I think if you read his post again its pretty clear if you understand what obama is trying to do.

I see nothing about the collective ownership of the means of production in his post. Why don't you point that out for me.

Great, now show me where this is relevant to what has actually happened so far.

I'm thinking of General motors takeover, and the supervision of banks and the supervision of health care, and student loan takeover just to name a few.

I'm just wondering because I have heard this argument before. Do you believe if those were necessary bailouts and then because the government did bail them out, the government then has the right to "take them over"? For the record I am against the bailouts. For health care. More against the bank thing than for it. And don't know enough about the student loan policy to have a position.

They should have let them fail- all of them. Get rid of the deadwood and corporations that don't work and/or have unsustainable business practices, and let some fresh blood in. The government takeover/control of businesses, and bailouts, are just symbolic of the general trend of the country. It's normal for everything to fail- it's the nature of everything that exists. Out with the old, in with the new.:)

The auto-industry is not an easy industry for fresh blood to enter at all. If our domestic auto-manufactureres failed I really doubt we would see new ones.

@Deuce

To be fair, he does have a point with regard to the Immigration Bill in AZ. There does seem to be a whole lot of hyperbolic rhetoric, exaggerations, and even outright lies being throw out by the "Mainstream" Left concerning this issue, and very little of it has anything at all to do with the actual reality of the situation. I would say that a lot of same is true with regard to healthcare reform as well.

Grated, Fox News has its moments of bias as well. However, let's not kid ourselves. The media is pretty overwhelmingly "liberal" on the whole, and the Left-Leaning powers that be do often try and silence or shout down opposing viewpoints.

I dont think America has come full circle. But, I do think people try too hard to put the entire of the political and social situations of any time in a box. This is not possible in a progressive society. I think the case is more that America is like any progressive country always in trial and error mode, and is adopting new as well as testing to see if any of the old will work now even if it didnt before, and also simply disgarding some of the old because it is immoral or it simply has no chance of working ever.
