Muddled and anemic?
Muddled and anemic, when it comes in the third act.

If he had said that a week earlier, it would have been a lot stronger.

I think Obama needs to look to Regan on this one.

Actually my concern is more for the Iranian people. I fear that if the US' role becomes more prominent the people of Iran will be the first ones to suffer the consequences. I fear the crackdown would get much worse.

Sadly, I think you're right. I worry over their fate throughout all this.

Obama's oratory prowess is his greatest and most effective weapon. This is the one time his grandiloquence can actually accomplish something beneficial and tangible. He needs to take a bold and principled stance in support of liberty or he will be judged very harshly by history, and rightfully so. The ideological war is often times as important, if not more so, than the physical war. Reagan understood this, Obama should look to his example.

This is one issue where conservatives, libertarians, and liberals alike want the same thing e.g., Iranian self-determination. I truly hope the President can help them actualize this dream. I wish him wisdom and strength. This is more important than politics...this is one of the most important moments in world history.
