  1. Time's Stengel latest in long line of reporters who jumped to jobs in Obama administration

Conservative critics raise eyebrows, but hires cite new opportunities, financial woes of news business.
Paul Farhi and Billy Kenber, The Washington Post SEP 25

Every administration draws in a few journalists, typically as speechwriters and press secretaries, a natural given the overlapping skills. A young reporter named Diane Sawyer went to work in Richard Nixon’s press operation in 1970, eventually helping Nixon write his memoirs. Tony Snow, the late columnist and Fox News host, wrote speeches for George H.W. Bush and served as the press secretary for George W. Bush from 2006 to 2007.
Edward R. Murrow, the legendary CBS anchor and perhaps the most famous newsman in America at the time, headed President John F. Kennedy’s U.S. Information Agency, overseeing the U.S. government’s broadcasts around the world.
But Obama may be different in terms of the sheer number of ink-stained wretches and other news-media denizens that he has attracted. Even before he was in office, his campaign had hired former CBS and ABC News correspondent Linda Douglass as a senior strategist. Douglass went on to serve as the communications chief for the White House Office of Health Reform before leaving in 2010. :peace

So Jack, I don't understand. What's your point with Linda Douglass or Richard Stengal?

dam right he has. name any other president that had 15 ex journalist working for him.
he knows only way he was elected and reelected was because the love affair the media has for him. no president and history has gotten away with half as much as he has. with the media turning a blind eye or actually covering for him they have become no better then the state run media in communist Russia back in the days of Stalin. they actually call closed door meeting with the leftist of the press to get a spin narrative going and for weeks every one of those news organizations parrot the same talking points and tell the same lies. It isn't news anymore but propaganda Joseph Goebbels would be proud

Oh Hell, those not on the payroll are still working for the administration.

How else can an incompetent, someone that had unemployment higher than when he entered office, someone that spent trillions, someone who signed the mess known as Obamakare, someone who proved himself to be no uniter but a Saul Alinsky styled Chicago machine Politician, and someone obviously in way over his head get reelected?

How could such an empty suit get elected the first time?

The substance of his character? (Ayers, Wright, infanticide?)
His history of success? (Of what exactly? Oh! Nothing!)

Obama was elected because the only journalist seemed to be Joe the Plumber, and Obama's hatchetmen attacked Joe for asking Obama a simple question and giving Obama enough rope to drone on and on... eventually hanging himself. But... the propagandists trotted to his rescue.

I don't mind if they're biased, what is annoying is their claim to be... ROTFLOL... "objective"!

Isn't ironic that so many of the former administration members..... are now in the media?

Jus sayin'....

Why isn't the media reporting on all the looting and the fires? Don't they know Obama has killed everyone with healthcare and let all the black people out of jail? It is happening right now as we speak all over the country and no one is reporting on it because what I said is batcrap crazy. There is this small problem even the dumbest of reporters are aware of. Ok, maybe not the ones at fox, but most reporters of the news are aware the internet and cameras exist so making up crap doesn't work very well so they will not be reporting that america is going down in flames because of Obamacare. Please do not bitch at the news people for not reporting your crazy delusions, they have enough trouble actually getting regular stories correct.

The objective of becoming President is not just fame and fortune (although they play a large role) but to bring your vision of the country, too the country.

If I were President (and I'm not so don't worry) I would hire anyone who could make my ideas popular. It's called "enlisting cooperation". Seems Obama is doing that (mixed reviews on success) and it pretty much makes sense.

I'm basing this on the assumption that Obama likes Obamacare and thinks its a great idea.
