Consider food. The most popular foods in America are Italian, Chinese, Mexican and American. Although there are hundreds of ethnic groups, not all groups have the best foods based on what works for the most people with free choice.
In the end, some cultures are better than others in terms of various things connected to social demand and support. The melting pot begins with all cultures and then through free choice, the best of the best becomes the majority choice. One can only try the best of the best food, by leaving the narrow niches of diversity. This is true across the entire spectrum of human activity.
If you were from a poor third world country and were asked to maintain your diversity, that means sticking to less education, corruption and violence since this is what you grew up in. Crime often follows to prey on its own kind told to segregate themselves. This is what the Democrats offered the blacks after slavery ended. Everyone is much better off being able to leave a narrow niche and sample the best of the best; mainstream American. This way they get to eat Italian, Chinese, Mexica and America instead limited ethnic foods, They also get to kin new ideas and avoid idea that did not work in their native countries.
The Democrat are running a racist scam, by persuading people to segregate themselves, so they cannot enjoy the best of the best. This is a way to maintain and permanent a third world dependent class. The American dream requires being able to go beyond these limits and sample the best of the best.
America was built on English based law and Judeo-Christian ethics. The Magna Carter was the precursor to the Constitution. This is the meat and potatoes of the melting pot. Other groups of immigrants became the vegetables and spices. Democrats try to convince poor ethnic groups that a pure garlic soup is as good as a hardy soup with a hint of garlic. Some minority spices make the dish very special, but the same spice can be too strong in higher doses and make the dish harder to eat.
In the melting pot, diversity is secondary and maintained by individual families, who share of the melting pot. Diversity allows the ingredients to stay firm and not turn to mush, so the soup is better. But the soup needs the ingredients in the pot, to get their flavor.
