I could use some help with the movie "Hillary's America" by Dinesh D'Souza. He makes a lot of ... claims... can anyone speak to or point me in the right direction to fact check SPECIFIC claims made in the movie?

Dinesh doesn't even understand the opposing nature of socialism versus fascism.
He thinks both are leftist.
So anything and everything he writes, says or produces is nonsense.
The man is an Orwellian toady from The Ministry of Truth.

Fine... I do not denie it, but still ... it doesn't do any good to blanket what a person says as "nonsense". One has to listen and process or you become just like people who believe nonsense and cannot be reasoned with ... I'd like to hear point by point assessment of his claims.

I'm specifically interested in claims that Hillary and Bill may have traded political favors for profit.... How much truth is there to that?

Dinesh D'Souza is a longtime conservative author with some outlandish ideas and claims.

Can't do that because I've never seen that piece of trash film and don't intend to.
My opinion of Hillary is, she's an extremely competent administrator and a decent legislator, and as a policy wonk there's none better, but she is one of the worst candidates ever, because her personality is a total dud.
She does statecraft well by working hard but she is stubborn, more than a little arrogant and aloof, and she irritates people.
She's unlikable with a Capital L.

But I would never look into Dinesh D'Souza's study of anything because he is something she is not...DISHONEST.
He's dishonest on a wholesale level, on a Jonah Goldberg level, a Dennis Prager level, even perhaps a Jerry Rubin or a Tom Hayden level. (equal treatment of both sides)

So yes, I can blanket the thoughts and writings of a dishonest demagogue just as easily as I would caution that there is "no safe means of experimenting with nuclear isotopes at home for fun."
I've read Goldberg's book "Liberal Fascism" and I've read enough of D'Souza's editorials and essays to confidently make the assessment I made for a valid reason.
These people are not interested in an objective look at history, they are interested in molding it to fit an agenda.

And that is every bit as dangerous as bowdlerizing or penning a false hagiography.
It is dishonest, and once I become aware of said dishonesty, it's clear that I must avoid such dogma.

Stay out of politics!! 🤣
Sorry!
That's the coin of the realm.

Of course, you can enjoy the entire "Hunt For Red October" clip in its entirety if you like.

The issue of Bill and Hill trading political favors for profit, however, is way overblown and riddled with false accusations.
Of course they peddled their political mojo for tidy sums, just like every other politico known to man.
The accusations leveled at them, on the other hand, largely sound like a cheap dime store pulp novel.
Are they a hundred percent honest? Highly doubtful.
Are they the slit-eyed global villains as described by their detractors?
Absurd.

After their stint in the White House they quite naturally translated their status as highly sought after consultants, just like every other successful politician ever has. The days of former presidents living out the rest of their lives in penury are long gone.
Garfield, Harrison, Grant, Jefferson and Truman all died broke. Truman was one of the first ex-presidents to finally receive an annual pension of $25,000.00, which helped keep him afloat.
But Jefferson, one of the wealthiest men in America, emerged from the presidency flat broke and never recovered, leaving ZERO for his acknowledged daughter and less than zero for the six children he fathered with ex-slave Sally Hemmings.
Moral of the story to all who came after was to ensure a life of stability and security and to acquire some wealth.

By the way, by law, former presidents are entitled to a pension, staff and office expenses, medical care or health insurance, and Secret Service protection. Former presidents receive a lifetime pension of $219,200 per year.
If one properly invests half of that, for a period of twenty years, it's easy to imagine just that alone yielding a handsome nest egg and if one adds in the hundreds of thousands that both of them get paid for private speaking engagements, then realizing a net worth in multiple millions is not difficult to imagine either.
When they left the White House, the Clintons were technically in debt due to Bill's legal expenditures.
Over the next 10 years Bill alone earned $100+ million in speaking engagement fees alone.
In 2001 he was paid the biggest book advance of all time, $15 million, for what became the best selling "My Life".
To date Bill and Hillary have earned more than $250 million from speaking engagements, book advances/royalties, investment income and consulting fees.

Sure beats eking it out in your mother-in-law's home and living off a paltry pension with a Medicare card the way "Give Em Hell Harry" had to till his dying day.

Thanks ... I'll look into Goldberg's book. Any other specific reading you suggest?

Funny and factual ... love it....

I'm specifically interested in claims that Hillary and Bill may have traded political favors for profit.... How much truth is there to that?

Take a look at the contribution levels to their charities while and after they had political power.

What, exactly, do those (unreferenced) claims have to do with the US Constitution?

Off hand, it would seem that nothing short of a global conspiracy would have to exist for that to have happened. If you recall, they are the most "investigated" couple in the history of the planet. And I say that without any hyperbole whatsoever. Just look at the record since they left Arkansas.

This crap serves only to brainwash people into loyalty to the right by making them scared of the left. The amount of fear the right live in is pathetic.

What the **** does this crap have to do with the Constitution?

What claims were made ?

What claims were made ?
The author - D'Souza - suggested that his conviction for illegal political contribution was unfair and politically motivated. He claims the Democratic party never really reformed from their racist history. He suggests that Barack Obama is just following in the footsteps of radicals and that the Clintons have a history of abusing their political positions for personal gain.

I see you're new here but you'll get used to seeing conservatives tarred and feathered for just being conservatives. Facts aren't necessary.

They're being told on a daily basis that we're all demonic marxists who hate America but the reality is most of us Dems listen to Bill Maher. Instead of summoning Marx and Lenin, try picturing most of us seeing this:

You could say they same thing about liberals. There are quite a few on here that are borderline unhinged.

Ask the Federal investigators who went thru their finances and their charity with a fine tooth comb and found nothing illegal or wrong. Then take a look at what happened to the one term mistake when they just examined the records of HIS charity.

Donald J. Trump Pays Court-Ordered $2 Million For Illegally Using Trump Foundation Funds
Trump Ordered to Pay Eight Separate Charities $250,000 Each
Remaining $1.8 Million in Trump Foundation Bank Account Disbursed Among Charities
NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today released the following statement after Donald J. Trump was forced to pay more than $2 million in court-ordered damages to eight different charities for illegally misusing charitable funds at the Trump Foundation for political purposes:
“Not only has the Trump Foundation shut down for its misconduct, but the president has been forced to pay $2 million for misusing charitable funds for his own political gain. Charities are not a means to an end, which is why these damages speak to the president’s abuse of power and represent a victory for not-for-profits that follow the law. Funds have finally gone where they deserve — to eight credible charities. My office will continue to fight for accountability because no one is above the law — not a businessman, not a candidate for office, and not even the president of the United States.”

You sure you know what a liberal is?

The Clintons have been investigated more intensively over the last 30 years than just about anyone in recently recorded history - with the possible exception of Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby. Whitewater, Rose Law firm, Vince Foster's untimely demise, blah de blah de freaking blah...... the whole litany of right-wing muckraking right up until Benghazi and the whole e-mail thing. And through it all, not one bloody accusation has stuck.

By my thinking, all of this means they're either the smartest people who ever lived... or there's nothing to the whole thing.

Hate to break to you, RW wingnuts... but there's no "grassy knoll shooter" there. Give it up already.
