I've not come to a conclusion as to whether they're sincere, going along with the woke, or paying to cover its ass? I suspect it could be all three.

Regardless, I can't help but to see the hand of a crisis PR team guiding what could have been an end to this institution.

Will the reparations be enough, and will more dark nasty things crawl out of Harvard?
 
Yet they have no problem discriminating against Asian applicants and allowing Genocide Denial CCP mouthpieces to speak at their China event.

Yes.

Harvard was also notorious for expelling gay students and faculty.

I think it was Harvard that dismissed a professor because he was discovered to be a reader of physique magazines (in the 1950s, the Supreme Court ruled that such magazines were not "obscene" and could pass through the mails). They were magazines with scantily clad young men. They were the closest to gay porn that was allowed at that time.

Hopefully, at least CNN & MSNBC and the New York Times will demand reparations for gay people. (Sadly, my favorite FOX probably will not).
 

Well in this case I agree in part.

The descendants of those five men who were slave owners should be repaid every penny of those donations, so that Harvard can proudly say they have rejected such support.

Being fully purified of "slave money" Harvard can forthwith carry on with head held high.
 
If GOP were smart they would use this to harshly punish Harvard next time they’re in power.

Start by using this as a pretext to ban Harvard degrees from being recognized for government job applications

Indulgences don’t buy salvation, they reduce temporal punishment in purgatory

Sincerity is irrelevant, it's utter nonsense and solves nothing. It's nothing but virtue signaling.
 
Doesn't west Africa bear some responsibility for their part in the slave trade? We never hear about that. How about giving the descendants of all slaves free land in Africa, for starters?
