Thank you again to everyone for the good wishes on my birthday. I am actually very touched by every message here in this thread...they are all like another birthday card to me.
So, since it is my birthday thread, I am gonna tell you all what I did tonight. I mean, since it is all about me
So today is not only my birthday, but it is also my anniversary. Five years ago I got the greatest birthday ever: my partner. We met, I fell in love, and as most boys who have real feelings, I was scared to show them. Then, on my birthday, I was just drunk enough to let those feelings fly and I asked Joshua to be mine and he agreed. We have been together since and today really was a celebration of that event.
So this morning I got up and went out to the living room to read the paper (which he brings in every morning on his way back from the gym) and on top were two cards...one a bday card and one an anniversary card. I read both and was very touched by the thought that went into both. I finished my morning routine amid many "Happy Anniversary" and "Happy Birthday" wishes from Josh.
He left for work and I watched about 20 minutes of television before I got bored and went into work myself. After I convinced my co workers and boss that I really wanted to be there, I took care of business which included a lot of phone calls and a meeting out at Ft Elmendorf with the AAFES support staff. All throughout, I came to debatepolitics when I could just to find good wishes piled upon birthday greetings through both this thread and private messages. To everyone, again, I say you really brightened my day more than you could ever know.
After work, I went and bought these beautiful roses for Josh...some breed of rose from Ecuador that was almost tiger striped. I had them delivered to Southside Bistro with instructions that they should be given to him during dessert. I went home, took a shower, spent some private time with Josh, and then dressed to the nines (as did Josh) and went out to dinner at eight along with 9 of our closest friends. We drank wine, I had the most excellent venison in a strawberry/kurrant/merlot demiglaze....a glass of Graham's 40yo Tawny Port with a delicious dessert...and the pleasure of seeing Josh light up when the flowers were delivered to our table. He actually thought they were for me instead of from me...the twist was more than satisfying.
We came home with a couple of our oldest friends and had a couple more glasses of wine. Then everyone left, Josh went to bed...I nodded off on the couch and then woke up and logged into here to find even more good wishes...all in all, I dont think I could have been more humbled by life and its blessings than I was today.
Again, thanks to you guys for being such a great group of people and making today such a great occassion.
Special thanks especially to aps, vauge, mixedmedia, and my angel Kelzie. You guys are the creme de la creme of this site.
Regards,
Joey
