It is snowing in central texas, we got 2 or so inches to stick to the ground, and that is after raining all night plus a many hours of snow on wet ground.

I seriously thought snow was a yankee legend like bigfoot not a real thing, but now texas is covered in that yankee legend. For yankees fleeing new york to come here please quit bringing your made up snow with you, texas does not recognize the legitimacy of snow as snow has never shown it's long form birth certificate in this state.

Yep, we got some snow here too - must be that glow bull warming. ;)

Don't be alarmed. Take advantage.

It might be hard in Central Texas, but try to find a small hill and take the kids or grandkids sledding. You don't need fancy equipment, either. A trashcan lid will work.

If outdoor stuff isn't your thing, but an adult beverage is, then make yourself a hot toddy and sip it while you look at all that beautiful white stuff out the window.

Whatever you do, enjoy the snow while it lasts. It may be years before you get to see it again.

You never been to Amarillo? It snows there plenty. :ROFLMAO:

That’s not central Texas - Amarillo is way up there on I-40. Amarillo is about 500 miles from me.

The earth is cooling no matter what the global warming cult tries to sell you. They're predicting a strong polar vortex this year so go out and buy yourself some proper winter clothes.

Not snowing here. Rainy this morning and chilly and windy. Of course I live in the part of Texas with palm trees, not tumbleweeds. ;)

Winter in Phoenix.

LOL!

I was stationed at Camp Bullis, just outside San Antonio, back in 1984 when the area got something like a foot of snow. Having grown up in NY I didn't think twice about it but the locals pretty much freaked out...though I do seem to recall a few of them having some fun with it.

So you’re just chillin’ then?

Its sort of central Texas.

No it really isn't, not in any way, shape or form.
It's the PANDHANDLE and weather-wise it might as well be it's own state.
By the way, for all the danger talk about driving in snow in the Northeast and Midwest, as a former DFW resident I am here to tell you that the most dangerous place to be is driving in the middle of a Dallas ice storm or the first big snowfall.
DFW drivers are absolute total morons in the snow, never seen such idiocy in my life, or such wreckage, mile after mile after mile.

Our barely over an inch of snow has already melted away. ;)

That’s typically what happens here but that doesn’t prevent El Paso drivers from crashing into each other as if it’s a sustained blizzard.

How do you manage to sound so angry in a thread like this? You are 100% buzzkill.

Then you haven't been to Denver lately.

Snow was the least of the worries at camp bullis, other than a burger king it still looks like it was unchanged since ww2, atleast when I was last there in 2012. The air force runs it now but they kept those crappy worn out wooden buildings, but to be fair the airforce atleast updated them to have ac.

The base is mostly used by national guard and air force reserve as well as some active duty, mostly used for medic training courses. I have to run the night time land nav, and to count how many of the medics sent on that course went screaming through the woods do to everything that comes out at night there.

There's a Burger King? Wow!

We had the Army on one side and the AF on the other. There was the all ranks club, a class VI store and the cement pond...without water. The latrine hooches just had loose rock floors and the shitters were all lined up with no stalls. You got to know your squad members really well there!
