Halliburton admits guilt in Gulf spill case

Sure im a socialist i dont agree with this so called "private enteprise". But do you think what Halliburton did is wrong?

We don't know what Halliburton did, or didn't do. You did nothing other than latch onto some, "wrongdoing", by a private sector, oilfield service company. It's partisan hackery and nothing more.

Truth be told, not doing a full 2x wellbore displacement to remove drilling mud and cuttings, using fewer than Halliburton's number of recommended centralizers, and not running a bond log are pretty common practice within the industry. Cementing is a drilling cost rather than an investment. Halliburton mainly has these policies to cover their ass (more centralizers, discplacement, etc). To get a decent (not ideal) cement job you dont need to do this, though doing them would make the job better.
BP immediately wanted to pass the blame to something else when their BOP failed. One place to look would be a bad cement job because this is a well know cause of gas migration. If Halliburton has evidence why no one does their "unreasonable" recommendations (21 centralizers), then this makes BP's case stronger showing that it was actually the cement and not just BP cutting corners. However, at the end of the day the operator is in charge of keeping the well under control, and their BOP failed. Halliburton did not cause the blow out, BP knew exactly what Halliburton was doing with the cement, BP's BOP malfunctioned. Halliburton should not have destroyed evidence related to the case since it makes them look bad, of course they have a lot of uneducated idiots that work for them and the company employs 60,000+ people so it is no surprise that something like this happens. Just my 2 cents

At the time I cared because I wanted to learn more about oil drilling and to also troll people on this forum who honestly gave a ****, because they were being retarded.

Dont forget eleven people lost their lives. I currently work on BP subsea equipment and safety is a joke. I just got out of a meeting for some upcoming Exxon work and challenged some fo the documented safety stipulations in a document we were discussing with the vendor that will build the susbsea equipment. When I pointed out to the vendor they never have done a safety measure written in the test procedure he replied "we have to included it" knowing they do not take that specific caution. I see safety violations nearly every day and rearely is anyone disciplined. The oil industry is famous for hanging safety signes and have safety meetings then they go to work and disregard most of the rules in the name of gettin the job done. If I rasied hell every time I witness safety rules being broken I would be unemployed. That is the way it is. Oh, Halliburton is no worse than hundreds of o9ther energy companies large ansd small.
