Nearly half of all Canadians believe the United States has a Nazi problem, according to a survey on Holocaust remembrance released Thursday.

It’s no mystery where they got that perception. Last year, a group of neo-Nazis received the red-carpet treatment from U.S. law enforcement as they traveled to Washington for a rally. A respected Holocaust scholar seriously compared certain American elected officials to those in Germany during the rise of the Nazis. And Americans re-elected a white supremacist congressman mere days after an anti-Semitic gunman murdered Jewish worshippers in Pennsylvania.

According to the survey, 47 percent of Canadian respondents said there are a “great deal” of or “many” neo-Nazis in the U.S. Only 17 percent said there are a “great deal” of or “many” neo-Nazis in their own country.

Crazy Canucks probably drank too much beer and ate too much fatback to think that... :2razz:

Well I know a fair amount of Canadians who don't think that. :) But just like the Aussies and Europeans, a lot of Canadians probably get their impression from the U.S. mainstream media who mostly promote the idea with their constant denigration or condemnation of anything right of center as racist and regularly putting people on their programs who call everybody who isn't a hardcore leftist a "Nazi" or "Fascist".

Still Canada was a fully functioning government...and far few White Trash ignorants...So there is that

lol...and this from the article:

Like their northern neighbors, Americans also saw a Nazi problem in the U.S., according to the earlier survey. A total of 51 percent said there are a “great deal” of or “many” neo-Nazis in their country.

Too much crappy beer and freedom fries?

That's ok...I like being a crazy Canuck... ;)

I'd say they're closer to right than wrong with all the right-wing clucks that have come out of the woodwork since Trump came out of his hole.

Not hard to understand.

IMO, thanks in great part to most of the MSN's obvious disinformation efforts, people have come to equate a MAGA hat as a symbol of hatred and white supremacy, and any wearer as a Nazi, Fascist, or other member of the "alt-right" (just another label used to describe a Fascist, Nazi, racist, etc.).

Can't blame your average Canadian for that when so many American's have fallen for it too.

haha...yeah, winters do suck if you're not into winter activities. Today is my kid's fourth snow day in a row!

It's ain't perfect, but given the alternatives I'm happy where I'm at. :)

When you have idiots with tiki torches marching in the streets and chanting about Jews, I'd say that's a nazi problem.

Know what the greatest thing about that cold weather is?
It makes you SHIVER and when you shiver, your "brown fat" starts triggering some serious fat burning mechanisms.
An hour shivering in the cold is like FOUR hours doing aerobics!

I arrived in Minneapolis as a slightly pudgy nineteen year old weighing maybe 160 pounds with a BMI of about 36 or 37.
When I left in 1982 I was 185 pounds but my BMI was about TEN, I was ALL muscle and I was able to burn through a six thousand calorie daily diet.

I was a BEAST.

Spoken like someone who hasnt a clue as to what fascism is. But dont feel bad, that clearly puts you in the company of 51% of Canadians who arent any brighter.

Not really, it's just that it's not cricket to actually call them that anymore.
And I prefer the term "crypto-Nazis" :lamo

Just my two cents, SNORK!

And worth every penny. Only people completely ignorant of fascism claim it exists in this country.

lol...yeah, that's good... Less ambitious, but arguably better thing to do in the cold weather is sit in a recliner by the woodstove, and sip some good scotch, thinking how nice it is not to be shivering... haha :) But I know about the metabolism trick, it's why that Phelps guy can get away with 5 digit calorie counts per day, and look the way he does. Makes you wonder how "hot yoga" got to be a thing...

And yet those folks with those torches will tell you it's national pride. That display of hatred that night was like a mini nuremberg march when that other guy was god in another country. Yet they will tell you it's your imagination. These are evil foul people.

They should turn on Hannity or read the posts here from the citizens of Trump Fan Nation. Then they would think everyone who isn't wearing a MAGA hat is a socialist or a fascist, and our last President was a Kenyan Muslim communist

But Trump said that some of them were fine people. ;)

Not according to this poll. :lamo

How many Nazis constitutes a “Nazi problem”? :)

That said, I love Canada. If it weren’t so cold I would give serious thought to moving there.

Those hard left (liberal/statist/progressive/permanent political class/status quo/leftist/et al) Americans created the memes. They couldn't beat the right wingers with truth, honor, ideas, vision, honest history, etc., so it is necessary to join together to accuse them, denigrate them, punish them, silence them, destroy them, and use of terms like racist, bigot, Nazi, fascist, etc. are working to keep their own troops in line and apparently are working in Canada and Europe as well since most of the mainstream media is aiding and abetting them with that.

But oh well. I am going to believe a fair number of Canadians are freedom loving independent thinkers who are bright enough to see through that. Just as I believe most Americans are.

Good luck, for American born residents I heard you have to down a pint of maple syrup and hold it before youre accepted up there. ;)

Most Canadians apparently don't think many of those marchers are "good people, fine people"

they also seem to think that making some people pay ridiculously high prices for health care isn't a great idea, as well.
