Léon Charles, the Haitian National Police Chief claims that a doctor, born in Haiti, who lives in Florida is behind the assassination of the President of Haiti.

"A Haitian-born doctor based in Florida has been arrested as a 'central' suspect in the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, and the national police chief suggested at a Sunday news conference that he believes the suspect was plotting to become president.

The doctor, Christian Emmanuel Sanon, 63, is now the third Haitian-born suspect with U.S. ties to be arrested."

Besides the ties to United States citizens people involved in the assassination have ties to many ex-military members from Colombia. What those ties are is also under investigation.

We may have had an American citizen active in the assassination of the Haitian president. We once, though, had our own president reactive to one previous assassination. The last time a Haitian president was assassinated (there have been 3, plus one execution), we invaded and occupied the country for almost 20 yrs in order to protect American business interest (thanks, Woodrow), using US Marines to assure forced labor, remove people from their property at will and perform executions. More presidents of Haiti have been overthrown than served their term. We did, though, use military intervention to restore a president to power in 1994 who, due to corruption, was later exiled by armed rebellion. Now, Haiti is asking for US troops to maintain "security of infrastructure"...
