Guys who need 30 and 100 round mags need to ask why do they need that. Ok you say it's for a tyrannical government. But is it really? Next time you load up I want you to think really clear. Is it for someone you know? Is it against a crowd you hate?

I bought a couple AR15 60 round mags.
Because I could.
Get over it that good Americans can do that.

Because 30 round magazines are the size that works best for me.

I'm not into large capacity mags myself but it's none of my business if anyone uses them.
 
AR15 is already heavy enough.

I don't have any 100 rd magazines. I have a shit load of 30 rd magazines. They're the standard for the rifle, and they were free to me.

Define "need". Explain how it relates to peaceful people being allowed to have something.
 
We have heard that argument when defending the 'need' for 15 round mags vs 10 or 5. And that is the standard for LEO is 15 round for a very good reason. Most encounters are a 'spray and pray' event for police. The average gun owner most likely shoots more than an officer though.

There is a simple formula that explains why actually.

fun = # bullets^2 x rate of fire + size of bullet (in mm)
 
I got 3 20-round drum mags for my sawed off Saiga-12, so Im not one of those mentioned.

No they don't. Wanting it is enough reason. If owing it is fair a lawful purpose then it shouldn't be prohibited.

Like having a car with a 30 gallon gas tank. Nobody needs to justify that. If you have a problem is your problem.

If I had the money to own and fire weapons that could take large capacity magazines I would want large capacity magazines with "need" not being any part of the decision.

I choose the magazines I have because I hate wasting range time reloading magazines.
 
In the case of gravest extreme, firearms will be needed to preserve the country and Constitution against those that would seek to attack both. 30 and 50 round magazines are best suited to combat.

I hope that day never comes. but if it does, I'd rather law abiding citizens be appropriately prepared.
