This really upsets gun nutters... not gun owners in general, but the ones that don't care about anything as much as caressing their guns loving as they stroke oil onto their weapons that were designed to kill people better... so you can win wars. Pretty simple.

In this argument, are guns WEAPONS or are the TOOLS?

Remember... anything can be used as a tool or for something that it was not intended to when designed. I tried explaining how we used our claw foot tub as a planter for an herb garden... but that is not what it was designed for. A car can be used to kill people but it was designed to move people about... not to kill.

Definition of gun

(Entry 1 of 2)
1a: a piece of ordnance usually with high muzzle velocity and comparatively flat trajectory
b: a portable firearm (such as a rifle or handgun)

Definition of firearm

: a weapon from which a shot is discharged by gunpowder —usually used of small arms

Definition of weapon

(Entry 1 of 2)
1: something (such as a club, knife, or gun) used to injure, defeat, or destroy
2: a means of contending against another

It’s a tool used to punch holes in whatever it is pointed at.

The trolling is thin with this one………..
People debate against what I have just outlined... that is an honest question that I asked.

The 2 uses and definitions are not mutually exclusive. Guns can be both.

Just be honest about your agenda and move on.

Doesn't matter. All potentially hazardous tools or equipment, whether a chainsaw, bulldozer, a car, or a truck have numerous regulations regarding their manufacture, sale, and use. Not sure why this potentially hazardous class of equipment known as firearms should be any different.

Guns, like knives, are weapons and tools.

Also, remember, if we did not have a vibrant gun and other arms industry in the US, we'd not be able to supply Ukraine with the weapons it desperately needs to combat the evil Russians. That has to count for something.

Hammer, weapon or tool?
Both. The early versions were blunt sticks or sticks with rocks on them. Used to grind grain or food, kill animals or hammer a person's head.

Or a different way to look at it is that if there were not guns Russia would not have invaded Ukraine to begin with.

PICKAXES: Tools, or Farming Equipment?

BASKET BALLS: are they spheres, or are they round?
Is there a point in there?

Really, this is like the question presented to Katanji Brown Jackson. The asker thought to herself, there is only one definition. I would have told her that there are many appropriate definitions of the word woman. Clearly, a witness to a crime that sees a human outfitted in heels and a dress, with a beehive hairdo, and painted nails is going to call that person a "woman." What if it wasn't a woman? In fact, what if it wasn't even a human, but instead a female sasquatch?

What if a person is born with both female and male genitals and dresses and identifies as a woman? What if you see a woman walk before you and whistle at her. Then her mom comes from over there and bitch slaps you because you just whistled at her 12-year old daughter. What if a male actor plays a woman in a movie? Then that actor turns out to be a female playing a man playing a woman. Who can go into a Women's restroom. Can girls? Is she a woman? You spoke with a woman on the phone but you later find out it wasn't a woman, but a man with a high-pitched voice. Yet you told her "listen lady ..." to her virtual face. Somebody writes a book and as the author calls herself Emily Dickerson. Is she a woman? What about the former Pat on Saturday Night Live - was that a woman or a man?

A gun can be many things, including a hunk of steel and a keepsake handed down through the ages.

Guns were invented to kill things, they're weapons.

Since virtually everything is "potential hazardous", then according to your reasoning, virtually everything should be regulated by politicians.

It is. I am not sure I would want to even buy any meat at the grocery store if it wasn't.

There in fact are numerous laws regulating the manufacture, sale, and use of firearms. So you can sleep well tonight on that count. Bulldozers not so much. Better stay afraid of those.

Bulldozers are not even street legal and need to be registered with the government. TYRANNYYYYYYYYY!!!!!
