Is that what really draws you into watching a particular news network, the advertising? How about because you find the give you a balance and accurate reproting of the news and both sides of the political side of the news along with interesting intelligent and reasonable debate over the issues?
The only thing that would protect this is state intervention which could be as bad, if not worse,

They are run by corporations, news corporations.
