Who else has home through this MADDENING process!?

I'm at that in-between can't do **** with my hair. :(

I freaking hate this!!!!Barrettes and headbands are quickly becoming every day wear.

See this is why girls should not be allowed in this forum.

I'm not a girl, I'm a full grown woman.

And your post illustrates why some men should be kept on a short leash.

:D

I'm at the age where hair grows faster in my ears than on my head. Thankfully, I don't need to braid either locale.

Try this: ;)

Yes, I've been there. After wearing short hair for a few years, I wanted it long again. I agree, barrettes and bands get boring, so I learned to french braid on my own. You don't need much hair for that. It worked great and still works great with my hair shorter again. I just use an elastic to pony it off. That and chignons. If that's the correct term. It's where you grab up the hair on the top of your head and then roll it and pin it down to your head.

I can manage to get it into pigtails finally, but what grown woman is gonna walk around with pigtails? Dangit. I just wish it'd hurry up. I'm not a patient person I've discovered, when it comes to this.

What's making it worse, is my hair is very thick and it has natural curl. So the longer it gets, the more it curls at the ends. Looks good once it's grown out, but now? It's hideous. :(

LOL Yeah, this in-between time sucks, it's so limiting.

I sympathize, my hair is naturally curly and I though the hair is fine, I have lots of hair per square inch, so while it grows out, there is volume. Not a good look with that in-between length, but yes, when it gets long enough, the weight pulls the curls into nice waves.

I hope you get through this time quickly! And post up pics when you are happy with it!

That may be a year from now at this rate! Haha! :(

It's a dreadful and annoying process. You have my sympathy. It's even tougher for a man, we have far fewer options that are socially acceptable to control our hair. I haven't had to go through that in a decade. Definitely not cutting my hair that short again for a long time.

Go the store and look in the hair section. They have all KINDS of cute accessories for your hair. My hair is really long now, past the halfway down my back point, so I tend to wear it up in a big clip most days lately because it's been so hot and humid. I definitely still know what you mean by not being able to do anything with it.

You're a socialist. "Socially acceptable" probably shouldn't be a huge concern for you.

A problem for women, where the standard is much higher than that for men. My hair grows at an astounding rate. I get it cut seasonally, before it reaches lengths that might get caught in equipment. This may not be ideal, but I think I look better without my hair caught in a drill press. Simply put, tape a photo of Helen Thomas (rip) to your mirror, and feel good about yourself.

Good one! :lamo: I feel better already, but you never fail to make me laugh! You would think I'd know better by now than to read your posts while I'm drinking an adult beverage!

Well - pregnancy hormones do great at helping hair grow.

So either get knocked up - or consider taking supplements or using applications that aid hair growth. I did that when I had a hair-issue and my longer strands were breaking all the time.

I'll pass on getting knocked up. Plus, a person would have to be having sex for that to happen anyway...lol.

Plus, I'm too old for all that baby stuff. I think I may try supplements. Sounds easy enough. When I was pregnant with my daughter, my hair was down to the middle of my back. I've cut it shorter and shorter since. I'm ready for something different. So I've been singing the awkward hair stage blues.

My hair grows really fast. Kind of annoying really.

Just be happy ya don't have white hair that grows outta ya face. While all the hair on ya head is black......okay some grey. But Not white. Sucks.
